July 14th - Avalon Day 6 - Bernkastel

 July 14th - Avalon Day 6 - Bernkastel

OK up bright and early for the Moselle Rive vineyards, wine tasting and a bus tour through various towns. One more cruising day and this part is over! 😪

There are more flat vineyards here and 65% produced reisling wines. The roses are used to monitor insect problems on the vines and spraying done by helicopter early mornings if needed. We stopped for sparking taste and winery tour in Wintrich but too sweet for me. This is an old fashioned wine making village and every second house makes/sells some from their courtyards.

Across from our ship dock.

Apparently this owner found some boys passed out after imbibing in his cellar so bare bum spanked each and now a statue reminds all of the consequences.

Easier travel between France and Germany, elevators in towers to bring up the building supplies.

Beautiful

OK back to the ship, did a pile of hand wash and hope it dries before I have to pack up, plus sent some for the ship's laundry even if expensive. For lunch I ordered a cheeseburger, fries, garden salad and fresh fruit with water - no booze! Now relaxing on deck, no more tours today for me!!! Was thinking of going into town but NAH, it's too nice here!

Different looking ducks.

I definitely could get used to this type of travel!!!
