March 5th cont'd

Hopefully I'm going to keep working on these embroidery projects from 2017 Year of Stitches to completion this year!

He he he the pups went outside but Bella stayed napping.  When they came in they kinda begged for a treat and Bella got up for that.  Then the pups went into the living room and Bella went to the door.  I had to be quick to let her out but keep these "boys" inside. 😃  Wheeler was not pleased with me but too bad.  Then they all settled down again.

Well lights out and I'm under the covers and all three dogs going ballistic on me.  So to the front window I go to see what gives.  HEY the snow cleaners had half the driveway done before I could get out there to move my car!  Now it's taken care of till the next snowfall and hopefully after I'm gone!  😁

March 1st n 2nd

Yesterday - March 1st

The day started with Wheeler being so goofy but growing up too!  He loves being outside moreso than Griffin and today captured this pic.  Eating icy snow.  Now all three are put there - pups horsing around.

Lovely day relaxing with the crew the morning and I can't believe that they didn't start stirring till 6:47 am - WOW!!!

Then finally after maybe 5 years or so Shirley and I enjoyed a homemade lunch at her condo plus an afternoon of stitching and visiting.  It was just awesome.  Thank you Shirley and I look forward to the next whenever possible.

Yes I did finish one of the fern stems on my Rose Table Topper and hopefully more the next couple days.  And hopefully Darlene and I can manage a visit and stitching soon too!

Oh and I managed to replace my broken rear window wiper - YEAH!  And it works!  Was told that there's a snow storm coming this weekend.  Might just stay put here if so.

Today - March 2nd

Having a salad n bread sticks with Nestor  (excoworker) after our 7 km walk in Kildonan Place.  Plus Quarks had a 25% off last sale price and I bought slip on Sketchers for  $40 taxes included.

OK my probably broken toe has finally shrunk back to it's normal size - which I wish it hadn't.  See it's now moving around in my shoe as I walk and getting jostled and naturally aching as it was freshly hurt!  DUH!!!  Also the discoloration has shifted!

OK so I relaxed this afternoon while the dogs played outside some.  After my leftovers supper we're down in the family room (except Bella who's upstairs) and I'm on the chaise lounge stitching and watching the Jets hockey game.  Let's hope they win tonight.  The pups don't care for my "rocking horse embroidery stand" so staying clear of it but horsing around as usual.  Oh Bella came down to join us!  Darn it.  I'm watching the game and next it switches to a recording and I can't change the channel.  So gather my stuff and back upstairs with the crew too.  It was so comfy on the chaise.   😉

Jake finally posed so nicely for me!  YEAH they won this one!  Hope the road trip games are win situations too!  OMGG I'm not sure which dog is releasing the silent but deadly bombs and not just once!!!!!  🤢  Not so nice an end to a lovely day!

Week #10 - 2017 Year of Stitches

WOW I've managed to complete Week #10 in time for Sunday posting!  So my Annual Panel took 7 hours!  The squares consist of Love in Mist - Nigella damascena, Cat, Cyclamen - Cyclamen sp., Delphinium -Delphinium elatum, Colchicum - Colchicum autumnale, Rose of Mexico or Pink Evening Primrose - Oenothera speciosa, and Little Penquin of Phillip Island, Australia.

The Rose Table Topper took me 7 hr 10 min to complete the first fern under leaves outlined in DMC #3052 as I forgot this step last week.  Then I traced on the opposite side another fern and satin stitched the main stem and outlined in DMC #3345.

OK here are the actual Little Penquins that I saw on Phillip Island, Australia.
And below is my rendition embroidered in the last square this week!  They're sure little cuties!!!

Week #9 - 2017 Year of Stitches

I think this three week cold flu is finally leaving me!  About time!

I've managed to complete Week 9 (last week's) finally last night but too tired to post then.  So my Annual Panel took 8 hours (slower at stitching plus stitched the wrong flower and had to rip it out as I'd already stitched that one plus one I stitched instead of the planned one but that one I left in.  SHEESH this was a trial week!  The squares consist of Pinks - Dianthus plumarius, Nerine - Nerine bowdenii, Perriwinkle - Vinca major, Palm trees and beach, Chrysanthemum (button) - Chrysanthemum morifolium, Catmint - Nepeta cataria, Daphne - Daphne odora.

The Rose Table Topper took me 5 hr 45 min to complete the first fern under leaves using DMC #3052 and 936 blended and outlined in 936.

This week I'll trace the next fern on the opposite side.

2017 - 1 Year of Stitches - Week #8

Feeling relieved that I've finally finished even with this cold 😰 or flu bug that sure slowed me down last week just when I needed to play catch up.

My Annual Panel took me 5 hrs 10 minutes to complete the Primula - Primula malacoides, Flowering Almond Cherry (PRUNUS) - Prunus glandulosa 'Rosa', Daffodil - Narcissus sp., Winter Rose (PINK HELLEBORUS) - Helleborus orientalis, Cotoneaster horizontalis, Alyssa (SWEET ALICE) - Lobrularia maritima, Fushia - Fushia sp. squares.

The Rose Table Topper took me 4 hrs to finish off the upper section of satin stitch in blended DMC #3345 and 936 and outline stitch in DMC # 936 - not sure if there is a noticeable difference to the colours.

Onto the next week which I know will be crammed as I've some travelling to do too.

Feeling Concerned!

That I've fallen behind just about a week on my 2017: 1 Year of Stitches and not sure if I'll catch up this week or not.  But I've enjoyed the time I spent with friends this past week.

So my Annual Panel took me 6 hrs 40 minutes to complete the Magnolia - Magnolia x soulangeana, Shasta Daisy - Chrysanthemum superbum, tatted Li'l Heart, Garrya (Tassel Bush) - Garrya elliptica, Silver Birch - Betula pendula, Wallflower - Cheiranthus mutabilis, and Jonquil  (Yellow) 'Grand Soleil d'Or' - Narcissus tazetta squares.

The Rose Table Topper  took me 4 hrs to continue to satin stitch and outline the next 8 middle section of leaves in DMC 3345.

Now to plan out the squares for this current week and get to work on them!
