Catchup - Feb 25th-26th

Feb 25th

Another family/friends sewing weekend is on!  Well lunch is a gonner!  Pat brought homemade chicken soup (stew-like) with cheese n crackers.  Sylvia divided her cake pan and half was apple and the other blueberry crisps!  YUMMY!!!

I'm sewing sashing to my wonky log cabin blocks with HST cut offs sewn together as leaders n enders.

Edna is working on a chair cover for her son-in-law's head rest chair.

Pat is finishing off a table runner from awhile back.

Pet's UFO (unfinished object) now a FO (finished object).

Sylvia is working on her bed quilt using BQ pattern by Maple Island Quilts, showcasing different flowers in each block.

And Sylvia's banana loaf for coffee break!  🤗

Supper was Edna's pulled pork with Sylvia's cabbage salad and her crisps for dessert!  It was an early night but back at it tomorrow!!!

Feb 26th

Here's another day we're all playing!  I decided to try this new project from YouTube Revelation Quilt called Trippy Triangle Quilts which she used 6 inch charms but I'm trying it with my 2.5 inch mini charms.

Trippy Triangle project

Here's the missed picture of Edna's chair head cover from yesterday.

Evan's chair cover

She also finished off her rolled Take Along Placemat from Quilter's World Spring 2014, except for hand sewing and starting another one.

Evan's Take Along cutlery holder placemats.

Pat made the hanger for another UFO and now back to her table topper, Paper Pieced Snowflake from a recent Country Register.

Pet's finished hanger.

Sylvia is continuing her BQ floral quilt blocks.

Lunch was my contribution of a chicken taco salad!  All said just YUMMY!!!

OK here is what the mini charms work up as!  So cute I think, so onto more squares.  Block size is 1 5/8 X 3 3/4 inch.

My 2.5 inch mini charms into Trippy Triangles.

Ohhh a good weekend for all of us!  Sylvia has enjoyed our company and sewed up quite a few of her floral blocks, soon to choose which will be in her quilt.

Pat finished off her paper pieced topper, just needs to be bound.

Pet's PP'd Snowflake in summer dress!

Edna cut out 3 more Take Along Placemats and anxious  to finish them off at home.

Wrapping up all her cutlery placemats.

She's a happy camper!

I resumed the "rippit" of sewn rows of not aligned columns of my wonky log cabin.  Retrying by marking the vertical sashing seams on the horizontal sashing per Sylvia's guidance and VOILA I was aligned!

Thank you Pat for the picture.

So at home I'll finish it off for another ABC quilt top completed awaiting quilting and increased my pile of leaders and enders.

We finished off having supper at the Wok Box on Dakota near the LC before all going home to relax!

Hmmmmm last night I THOUGHT I'd finished off my dimensional embroidery homework ready for tomorrow's class and new steps.

NO, NOPE, NADA, NO SIREEE!!!!  😬😪😵‍💫

See I switched to the leaves and rosebuds BUTTT totally forgot to start with the STEMS!!!  I was totally annoyed and went to sleep and today I'm too tired to start it, so tomorrow I'll try to stitch it into place between the background and foreground!  🙏

March 19th-21st

March 19th

I think some animals lives will be traumatized with this, not only the family! Virtual HUGS to all!

March 20th

Feeling refreshed!  HEY, I think I'm kicking this sinus infection, not 100%, but feeling loads better that I went for a short walk.  DANG that felt GOOD!!!  Now I'll try get out daily for walks and maybe even with Edna!  But after three weeks of postponements my hair is growing and I'm resorting to clips!!!!  🤣🤣🤣

2.5 km, short one!

March 21st

This Covid19 may break my back but hopefully not my spirits!  Well I took friends' suggestions and Thursday stripped my bed and did some laundry, airing the apartment again today.  Also dust mopped the bed frame, floor, night table and lamp.  Still have the dressers and closet door and one room will be done!  😘🤗💞

Yesterday I cleaned out both freezers of the 4+ year old and freezer burnt food and chest freezer is shut off to clean out tomorrow ready for fresh off and on shopping stuff whenever! I'm still sick obviously!!!!

Ohhhh, yesterday I caught Brandy Maslowski, Quilter on Fire, Clearing Clutter in Your Studio, live feed and jotted down notes for my next pinge in work!!!

Today Aurora quilters are having some kind of virtual sewing day.  I'm also cleaning out the ice in my freezer and sorting fridge freezer for leftovers and real food for the freezer.  Try to be more efficient and date things in future! OKAY enough work, gonna switch machines and back to sewing blocks for the RCMP commission quilt!

Ohhh YEAH it's International Quilt Day and I've hung three wall hangings that once made haven't seen much hang time!  Today is the day!

OK I've set up my temporary studio and trying to find ZOOM and join Aurora gals?

Ohhhhh I'm totally beat!  Finished off virtual sewing with a few Aurora gals just before 3pm, washed out the chest freezer using a hand towel as far as I could reach, connected to my washed swiffer and rest worked very well. Then started it up and headed out for a few groceries before coming home to unpack while this lovely supper baked for me!

And Black Forest dessert!!!

My reward for a busy few days!  Feet up the rest of the evening!

Now take down of quilts to close my drapes for the night.

These were in the living room.

This in my bedroom.

Sunday Fun!!!

OMGG look what I have to look forward to at Christmas!  Bubba is a cutie and Fred is so gentle I'm sure they'll be pals quickly!  ❤🐾❤  WOW, he sure looks cute!  Now this one looks like he's walkable for me!  Wonder how would Fred behave walking now, as Zero was the aggressive one and instigator?  Apparently walks may just be happening, will know soon.

Now Jeanette this is what I had in mind for those blocks I basted together for her!  This is awesome and i think I'll practise some Shashiko myself on some fancies!

It was a lovely afternoon checking out this craft sale with Colleen and we both picked up some presents, mine little things!  Then we met Nestor at Olive Garden and had an awesome visit together.  Gotta have impromptu lunches more often!

Aunt Monica's Attic

This is where I'm purging larger pieces of my fancy fabrics and laces to!  Some are sewn up for the dressup birthday tea parties she offers in her shop, some donated for fundraising efforts and like this special one for sale - maybe for a family wedding or other such special event!  Some little girl will feel extra special in this beautiful dress that is one of a kind! 😍
