Celtic Charm - Finished!!!

Yesterday

I wouldn't have thought of this one!

We have hope!!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Today

Ohhhhhhh what a beautiful 🌞 spring day out there!  Yes I'm feeling better and today surprised myself with an actual "walk" intead of a stroll and slightly further, feeling awesome!  Then as I'm ready to turn home I see Fools and Horses has a few people scattered on their patio?  So I stopped and asked, to my surprise they were offering door pickup of coffees as long as you had tap!  WELL THEY MADE MY DAY!!!!  🤗  See I've not had my favourite Chai Latte since February, so I promptly ordered not caring what it cost me!!!  OHHHHHH, sweet heaven, it was delicious!!!!!  Not as pretty as these as it was in a take out cup but I'm sure just as delicious tasting!

Another version!

OMGG I'm still feeling upbeat and even finished off these past two days this Celtic Charm wall hanging for MPQs Quilt Reflections Challenge Quilt Auction.  Not sure what will happen since the cancellation, but I'm hoping the fundraiser happens somehow, especially for the charitable organization.  I love this one but not really my fabrics! 😉

SOME PEOPLE!!!!!

Today around 2:15pm while walking northbound on Osborne I was TOTALLY DRENCHED by a very INCONSIDERATE person driving a black larger sized half ton at speed limit or maybe even more!!!  I was passed by many vehicles and only got splashed below my knees which was minor!  THIS truck was too close to the curb in the deepest water when going past and the wave was solid and over my head, even into my glasses, blinding me to getting the licence plate or it would he HERE too!!!!!  Didn't slow down except to make the corner onto Broadway and speed away again! Well hopefully very soon someone will get you back worse than my being soaked through all layers!!!!

Then if that was not enough, this arrives!

I just received this message from my a friend. Yesterday I'd just done a scan and all was good!  Will do again.  BUT honestly everyone should not be accepting a new friend request from their ALREADY friends.  It's always been my habit to delete those plus any messages with just links and no info from my friend. Good practice to follow!

Sheesh this is a pain and only wanting one to tie up one's Messenger etc.  I wish they'd get a normal job already ir just drop dead!!!!

"Be careful: I got a message from you or it shown on your wall here.. Please tell all the contacts in your messenger list not to accept friendship request from Andrea Wilson. She is a hacker and has the system connected to your Facebook account. If one of your contacts accepts it, you will also be hacked, so make sure that all your friends know it. Thanks. Forwarded as received. Hold your finger down on the message. At the bottom in the middle it will say forward. Hit that then click on the names of those in your list and it will send to them THIS Is REAL"

Sewing Days

OMGG, Janice here is something like what I'm going to do with fabrics you brought me from Hawaii!  Not sure when but now an idea!  I love dolphins so am going to scour images to find one I love!

Wonder if it'll work for me?

OKAY here's my results of the past two days! The inside was free motion and not so good, still lots of FMQing practice needed!  BUT DANG, even if I have to toot my own horn, my walking foot quilting is near perfect!   😂😂😂

And thank you Brandy and Helen Maslowski for showing me the merits of Snag Magic, I sure used it lots on this project!  (I used to use a regular needle and threaded it each set of threads - DUH; then a quilter showed me the same needle with a different coloured long looped thread to catch my threads to pull through to hide - worked but sometimes I pulled the wrong thread out; doesn't happen with this baby!)

Snag Magic, thread burying tool!

Now back to my ebook!  Tomorrow is quilting the borders, squaring, adding thd label and hanger, then the binding!

I just enjoyed my first time in Chatzy with Cynthia et al in the Beginning Tatting Class group.  Thank you, but next time I'll use my laptop, not tablet!  I also got over my fear of trying onion rings!  Need lots more practice with thicker thread too!  I had grabbed the first shutter I saw and had to be 30!!!!

Celtic Charm

March 24th

Ohhhh to find rocks and what a fun time for kids!!!!

Yeah finally it's captured! Remember to practice social distancing!

And naturally news releases are changing daily!

Another pasttime!

March 25th

Yesterday was a weird one that's for sure!  I seesawed from keeping busy to guess feeling down!  I did get some things accomplished though!  First off did the totally unusual and did some online purchases from P&D Original Design for this 4" Cat Bitty Block and others for paper pieceing and then another free eBook on double reverse applique - not sure about this one.

Then I worked on modifying a Celtic design for my border free motion quilting and sandwiched my Celtic Charm hanger.

One of my girlfriends asked if I'd done other Celtic designs and that took me down memory lane to 2008 MPQ workshop Pat and I attended.

Then I watched some news and got further into my anxiety!!!!!!!

Just followed up with my Dr's assistant and the nasal swab done recently came back negative for Covid-19.  She also stressed that the lab would have called me immediately!  One less stress in me now!  🙏🙏🙏

Cruise Update!

I totally agree!

Hot from my travel agent:

"In response to elevated travel restrictions and government advisements, we have made the thoughtful decision to suspend operations through June 30, 2020. . . .

The Globus family is now allowing all currently booked travellers between March 14 and June 30, 2020 to move travel dates easily and without incurring cancellation fees, land or airline penalties*.

To make the transition easier, this Plan includes an additional bonus credit.  This bonus credit of up to $200 per person will be in addition to the Letter of Credit, redeemable for any future travel through 2022."

So now I'm in discussions with Aruna of Around The World In 80 Ways to do such. 👍👍👍

Hmmmm, my past couple weeks of concern over our world, seems overnight to have obsessed into internal panic, which my BP does not need!  Even my trip postponement without penalty and two days of sewing has not helped, except for finishing off these 20 RCMP blocks, hopefully tomorrow's sewing will help!  Ohhh and today I did an online purchase, another angel to look forward to in the future!

March 19th-21st

March 19th

I think some animals lives will be traumatized with this, not only the family! Virtual HUGS to all!

March 20th

Feeling refreshed!  HEY, I think I'm kicking this sinus infection, not 100%, but feeling loads better that I went for a short walk.  DANG that felt GOOD!!!  Now I'll try get out daily for walks and maybe even with Edna!  But after three weeks of postponements my hair is growing and I'm resorting to clips!!!!  🤣🤣🤣

2.5 km, short one!

March 21st

This Covid19 may break my back but hopefully not my spirits!  Well I took friends' suggestions and Thursday stripped my bed and did some laundry, airing the apartment again today.  Also dust mopped the bed frame, floor, night table and lamp.  Still have the dressers and closet door and one room will be done!  😘🤗💞

Yesterday I cleaned out both freezers of the 4+ year old and freezer burnt food and chest freezer is shut off to clean out tomorrow ready for fresh off and on shopping stuff whenever! I'm still sick obviously!!!!

Ohhhh, yesterday I caught Brandy Maslowski, Quilter on Fire, Clearing Clutter in Your Studio, live feed and jotted down notes for my next pinge in work!!!

Today Aurora quilters are having some kind of virtual sewing day.  I'm also cleaning out the ice in my freezer and sorting fridge freezer for leftovers and real food for the freezer.  Try to be more efficient and date things in future! OKAY enough work, gonna switch machines and back to sewing blocks for the RCMP commission quilt!

Ohhh YEAH it's International Quilt Day and I've hung three wall hangings that once made haven't seen much hang time!  Today is the day!

OK I've set up my temporary studio and trying to find ZOOM and join Aurora gals?

Ohhhhh I'm totally beat!  Finished off virtual sewing with a few Aurora gals just before 3pm, washed out the chest freezer using a hand towel as far as I could reach, connected to my washed swiffer and rest worked very well. Then started it up and headed out for a few groceries before coming home to unpack while this lovely supper baked for me!

And Black Forest dessert!!!

My reward for a busy few days!  Feet up the rest of the evening!

Now take down of quilts to close my drapes for the night.

These were in the living room.

This in my bedroom.

Celtic Charm

Off and on today, I sewed and am very happy with my results.  Even if I cut the finished size of pieces for the outer borders and wasted precious FQs.  Now I have to change to the plain blue for binding, same as the inner floating border!  SHEESH, that's what I get for reducing the design to fit the FQ and then having to do my own calculations for rectangles to fit!!!  🤗🤔😠🤞😍

March 14th-18th

March 14th

Serves them right for being so danged greedy!!!!

Beautiful!  This new virus started with animals and I'm wondering if it'll affect insects? At least please inffect mosquitoes and tics!!!

🤣🤣🤣 Probably very true for many out there!

March 15th

Totally weird for me and I'm not a serious sports junkie!!!!  Yep a Saturday without any "today" sports on TV was weird - it's hockey and curling season big time!  Goes to show it's not important TODAY!!!  I'm working on stitching and listening to audio books with Jukebox Oldies instead!

That's a lot of TP and ONE is sufficient till next shopping trip!!!!  👏👏👏  Good decision Costco!!!!

Hmmmm is winter coming back???  Relaxing listening to my Jukebox Oldies and audio book while stitching on the biases made earlier today!   Soooo awesome!!!

March 16th

Well today I hand appliqued the first round of this hanger while listening to a Danielle Steel audiobook.  I think I'm kind of enjoying this self isolation of stitching, relaxing to my hearts content even if it's not a good reason.  Not sure how long it'll last as I'm feeling lots better for a change!  I'm not used to staying home - and no I hate house cleaning or purging!!!!!  🤣🤣🤣

And with St. Patrick's Day tomorrow, I thought these two sayings appropriate for right now!

March 17th

I had to go get sinus meds to help kick this infection and get more groceries so dropped off my card to Barb, but our lunch indefinitely postponed!  😢

Another bites the dust recently, BUT it has a postponement date for October which is awesome, EVEN if it's the retreat weekend I look forward to!
Something awesome to look forward too!  Also more time to make another mini auction quilt! YEAH!!!!

In light of the recent covid 19, the Sunset Country quilt show scheduled for April 25th and 26th has been postponed.  We have made this decision in order to protect everyone involved.  We have decided to reschedule the show for October 24th and 25th.  These dates were already booked at the Ag center for our retreat so the retreat will be pushed to April 2021.  This was not an easy decision to make but a very necessary one.  Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.  The banquet tickets will just move forward to October.  The quilt show challenge will now be due at the September regular meeting.  The quilt show raffle will still take place in April as stated on our lottery license. Please have all tickets dropped off at Tammy’s Studio on Thursday.  The door prize quilt will be saved for October.  All mini quilts and quilt show challenges that have been submitted will be kept for October.  Quilt drop off, pick up and entry dates will all be postponed and new dates will be chosen at our next quilt show committee meeting.  We hope that our vendors will be okay with this move.  If it happens to be a conflict, we will do our best to work with you.  To everyone who has placed posters around.  Could you please remove them and we will print new ones at a later date.  If anyone has any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.  Thanks again for your cooperation and understanding.

Here's two days of stitching finished!  Now to figure out the borders!  I ❤❤❤❤ this so far!!!  These are the three fabrics in the Challenge then the next picture has three from my stash added in.  The last is something of what I'm hoping to accomplish.  🤗

My poor fingers!!!
Two full of holes, thumb nail cracked!!!

WOW, I wanna play some of these myself!
