 May 25th

Celebrating a new year at Thermea, arrived 10:30am!

May the relaxation begin!

Ohhhh it's been lovely so far!!! I've had two sessions of hot bath, polar waterfall and rest, one being the discovery with snowballs and mild scents wafting through the air. Then the hot tub before grabbing a grapefruit radler and relaxing with my book in the Rainforest to occasional cool mechanical misting. Now I'm waiting for a light lunch before exploring again. My hip is achy but so far behaving!!!

Hmmm, I wanted a couple pizza slices with my grapefruit radler but only whole pizzas, no thank you. So later I went to the restaurant, had a salad, wine, dessert and latte! It'll do till supper!

OMGG!!! What a beautiful day to be here! Hopefully I haven't a sunburn as I totally forgot to apply the sunscreen I brought and had in my bag with me outside.

So after lunch I did another bath and sauna routine and think I may be getting used to the polar plunge!!! Then 4:15 was my massage with a last bath and sauna routine with a full polar body plunge, not just two walk throughs under the waterfall. Afterwards I retreated to the hanging bucket chair to read and relax. This was on the edge of the golf course with low hanging trees above, so soothing. One last hot tub jets on my back and hip before showering and going in for supper!

Yes a beautiful day!!!

I'M STUFFED!!! I left half my feta/tomato salad but forced myself to FINISH OFF this awesome but very messy burger! I was going to have two ceasar cocktails but barely finishing one!!! Definitely no dessert tonight!

As it is I feel I'll be rolling home and I'm not talking about in the UBER!!!

Now home for feet up relaxing at 9:45pm!!!

Thank you so very much for all the birthday wishes via emails, messages, phone calls, cards and Facebook recently!!! They all helped to make my day extra special along with pampering myself at Thermea Nordic Spa! AWESOME day! Thank you!!!

Gosh what a day!!! I was very productive at Meadowood Quilters today, only two outer vertical sashings to sew together and on and another I Spy quilt top finished off.

But "dang it" my just cleaned car was just a huge mess when I came out 2:30ish! WHY!!! And the trees out my window are totally lunatic tossing around like crazy with a dust laden sky, winds gusting to 80-100kms. And even though we've got new windows and they are closed I'm totally plugged up, hard to breath and smells dusty INSIDE!!! The window ledges feel gritty.

May 16th

YAHOOIE!!! I've booked my Nordic SPA day and found the "fastest" option for the cheaper UBER ride rather than booking it ahead!!! I checked the forecast and it should be hot and sunny that day!!! I can't wait!!!

May 18th

Cool, recycling too!

Well even if this head cold is annoying, I have enjoyed the calmness of tatting scissor fobs. I'm not impressed with the variegated colours for the leaves and covering the rings, in future I'll choose complimentary plain colours. Maybe tomorrow I'll try a snowflake pattern.

May 19th

Ohhhhh I had bought a scrumptious Mandarian orange chicken salad and a new to me salad dressing!!! AND oh boy talk about YUMMY!!! I'll definitely be keeping this in stock!

May 21st

Well I go from inactivity for days to walking two days in a row. Yesterday was a bad day but I had an appointment downtown so with numerous stops I walked. Today I was feeling better so invited Aiada to join me and we walked Edmonton to Osborne, Broadway, to Edmonton home, minor aches and only three stops!!! YEAH!!! But that DANG wind. For some reason my tracker did not register, lucky the Samsung Health app does record movement!

I started celebrating early with Edna at the Keg. Usually I'm not keen on it but glad I tried again as food and service was awesome!

May 24th

Well so much for my going for a walk 2ish! While showering the lights went off, hmmmm, heard of cold showers here before but first for a dark one!!! Once out, I thought maybe my lights burnt out but nope an email from MB Hydro says power outage at my address! DANG that's twice recently!!!

So silly me thought we'd have emergency power to keep the hallway lights and elevator working so I could still go for my walk!

NOPE, NADA, NO SIREEEE - NO POWER PERIOD!!! And I'm not walking down six floors in the dark either!

About 3ish the power came back on so out I went for a walk but my body ached badly and I needed rest stops a few times.

Hmmm not sure where this is but will have to check it out one day!

On May 23rd a Then and Now "story" came up, not much change my dear! I didn't realize they disappear after a time! So I'm posting this to keep!

Tomorrow I'll be treating myself to Thermea Spa, not sure when I'll be home! ♥️

Sept 27th - Michelle's Birthday

 Happy 80th Birthday Michelle!!!

Thank you Catherine for inviting me. It was an awesome tea and treats, appropriate games especially for Michelle and Wally plus others to chuckle over. AND talk about a surprise violin serenade by Amir Bissen, much to Michelle's heartfelt joy and my amazement to hear she was also a violinist and performed too!!! It was a lovely day for her special celebration!

Catchup - Weekend Fun

July 18th

Ohhhh it is just lovely on the deck! Even the dogs are enjoying the 24C temps as much as I am! Oooohhhh and so peaceful in the country after a few days in Vancouver!

Ohhh now the fun begins!

July 19th

A lovely night for all of us! After feeding the crew I went back to bed. Just found out my friends were a bit late checking in and their seats gone, put on stand by, but weren't able to get on last night. They waited till midnight then were confirmed on tonight's flight out and returned to the hotel with some compensation. I pray all goes well and they get home to have their WELL DESERVED coffees (not an fan of Canadian coffee)!

Now outside with the Crew, see the many chickens in their coop's run squawking to be let out - no way, but damn the wildfires smoke is hanging low and heavy.

July 20th

SHEESH, not fair at all!!! Within 24 hours home I get FOUR itchy mosquito bites - none while out west!!! Ohhhh and I did not regain all 10 pounds I'd lost this year but did put on 4!!! Hopefully returning to smaller plate portions will correct that! I couldn't believe it but no Senior's menues, sometimes sharing or leaving behind, Kid's yes!

Ohhh it was nice to meet up with the girls tonight to celebrate Edna's 96th birthday (tomorrow). It's about time, after ten days I finally get a grilled shrimp meal (no complaints on food quality on the trip)!!! It's nice to be home yet I wish I could have stayed longer too!!!
