Catchup - June 25th-28th

June 25th

Very attractive!

Thank you Cindy and Janice for a lovely visit and supper at Saffron's. I can vouch for the appies of Greek Sliders and Bruchetta (my meal), scrumptdelicious!!! Ohhh and the lime Marguerita Bulldog was as I remembered it to be!!!! The rain even let up so we could depart! Then talk about AWESOME, I was able to shut off the AC, that really was not cooling the apartment off, open the windows and enjoy instant cooling relief! Now it would be great if that was it for summer temps and now into fall temps???

June 26th

Ohhhh after taking Sylvia to the Park Cafe for lunch we stopped into Pat n Randy's. I got to see the completed stone painted yard decor that Sylvia started painting for their yard years ago! So beautiful!!!!!! She's so talented!!!

June 27th

I've finished Rail Fence #1 quilt top a couple days ago and working on Rail Fence #2. I've rearranged heart blocks for an inset border and sewn them in rows today. Sooner I get this top done sooner I can get them outta here! Now I'll either check OMA's or Mooks for a creamy/sand for 1" borders either side of the hearts and maybe more wide backing for these two.

AND I've cleared a path into my apartment without obstructing access to the other rooms for the soon to be delivered manual reclining loveseat. BYE BYE this broken uncomfortable recliner chair! The entrance into livingroom from the hallway is totally open, a first since moving in 7 years ago! I might find a narrow bench to put shoes on there with a drawer for my walking stuff underneath.

Okay this clearing or purging has me deciding to recycle my old Kenmore machine very soon to clear floor space. It's had three servicing past 15 years because of feed dog sewing issues and last time was told to trade it in, but not accepted as such. Unless there is someone who can use some parts from it, please let me know, otherwise next week it's a gonner.  So I'm keeping the feet as they are interchangeable with my Janome and my niece's Kenmore which has different feet than her Mom's or my machines that she likes.  Also I'll hang onto the manual and foot pedal combined plug in, maybe someone's lost their's in travels and would like them?  But this is pick up in Winnipeg MB only or postage paid by you.  I've been told that MCC thrift stores may take this and fix or use as parts, so that will be my course of action.

June 27th

Oh oh oh what a day it's been!!! Yes I'm still flying high now that I've supped!

See even though early morning was a might rough I still managed to pick up Edna, Sylvia and Dianne for a road trip today! We headed down 59 to St. Pierre to their MCC thrift store, then a lovely visit with Adiena and shopping before heading to Steinbach. There we stopped into 10,000 Villages before meeting Sylvia's daughter Diane for lunch at the delicious Main Bread & Butter Company, then various stores before heading for McDs for afternoon refreshments. We all shopped quite well and some frugally. Then back to the city, to drop off Dianne, items for Aunt Monica's Attic, then Sylvia and Edna and home to put up my feet! PHEW!!!! It was a long day that's for sure but I've been told everyone had a great visit, good food and a wish to go again!

Sylvia's Gifted Talents

Dec 22nd

Oooohhhhh Sylvia totally surprised me with my Christmas gifts!  Yes I'm feeling emotional!  See I knew I was getting the painted Hecla lighthouse I asked for on rocks I collected off the beach, but not the lovely pillow!  💖💖💖

AND there's a touching story for me too!  See she started this pillow year's ago when Mom & Dad moved from their house to the apartment.  It took some time and before she knew it Mom moved into the nursing home, so she put it away, misplacing the pattern too.  Well she found it and being green, knew I'd probably be the only one to appreciate it!  So she finished it off with her daughter Diane's help.

After this I just had to take a picture of the pillow, the lamp I've always craved and when she moved here she gifted it to me AND Mom & Dad's picture which I thought I'd lost but found this month!  Talk about COINCIDENCES!!!

Guess I gotta make my bed daily now!!!

Mom & Dad's lamp and pillow reunited!

This is huge and heavy!!!

Catchup - Feb 4th-8th

Feb 4th

Feb 5th

Ohhhhh that was one of my many wonderful times with my online friends I met in person on my Australian/NZ trip in 2015! Jo, who was working, even gave up her bedroom so I'd not be disturbed by her and her three children getting dressed earky mornings! WAY beyond the "hostesses" kindness I tell you! And I'm glad we're still online friends! 💞💞💞

Hmmmm here's Day 12 and still no guess except whatever it is has a huge head! I'm using a clear silver lined bead so not quite visible. I totally have no clue!

I read this someplace and just had to make note as I'm sure mine's reaching that level! "My stash won't be satisfying until I've achieved SABLE!"    AKA: Stash Accumulated Beyond Life Expectancy!

Feb 7th

BRRRRRRRRR!!!! 🌬

DAMN DAMN DAMN, I've not had such a frustrating hour with Shaw in CHAT, as to talk to someone was a 2 hour wait. See I accidentally shut off the wall switch and shut TV and Internet down, now taped over, all back on but not the volume on the TV! I've not had to look behind my TV since 2013 and was very leary when he asked I find the HDMI cable and switch ends! HUH! In the end all was good and glad I stayed in control and sent pictures so he could help me and gave it all a good dusting!

Now it's supper and wine!!!! 🥂 Was supposed to be tatting and then sewing on my binding, maybe I'll still get there!

Well 1 of 3 items I'd hoped to complete this evening. This is the 4th of 7 snowflakes I need this spring. It's the Twentyfirst Day of December from 24 Snowflakes in Tatting by Lene Bjorn. I think I have to make this one for myself one day! I'll be finishing and starching them all together, that's when a better picture will be posted.

Well 2nd of the 3 items completed!

Okay TIAS Day 13 and I'm losing my enthusiasm to guess what this will be, maybe it's the stressful hour trying to get my TV working again! The head sure looks like it has a broad forehead. I'm using a clear silver lined bead so not quite visible.

Well it might be late, but I accomplished my goals for the evening!

This is Melissa Marginet's the Piled High Table Runner Class piece I finished off. It was awesome, even in ZOOM, to participate in a quilting class again, especially with Sylvia! AND I'm tickled pink with my colours, reversible even! I'm showing it on white but love it hanging on my bathroom door!

Feb 8th

Gosh I can't imagine "living" outside in this, going to and from the building and car were bad enough!

Here is Sylvia, my sister, and my own Piled High table runners from Melissa's recent class. We both enjoyed it very much! Sylvia's back is BnW and doesn't show up her white quilting.

Ohhhhh I'm so excited that Sylvia's quilting mojo and desire is back! She's in high gear planning 12 monthly small hangings for her outer hallway door! Here's February's and she's got a winter one recycling a cloth Snowman bag and soon a St. Patrick's Day hangers too. I'm helping out resizing the Leprechaun clipart image for her. 🤗🤗🤗

Now, what's up for me today?!?!

Oct 8th - 12th

 Oct 8th

Yeah tonight I finished off two more mask orders (6 child's and one teen/small) in the nick of time. Now to check once home and see what other orders are left!

Oct 9th

Oct 9th

What a beautiful autumn day for a drive back to Winnipeg! Only saw one eagle flying and a bunny lazily crossing Hwy #1. I did get a picture of the tamaracks changed colour in Ontario but missed the spot near Hadashville corner in Manitoba! Sadly we saw three dead deer! Sylvia got the keys to her apartment, we unloaded some stuff and now relaxing at Pat's!

Oct 10th

Ohhh I can't wait till we can have a painting day (quilting too) whenever she's up to it, not just when I travel out for a week or so!

That was my first virtual memorial service through Facebook and the Beausejour Community Church for Phil Van Bergen's celebration of life! Beautiful and I'm glad I remembered him as everyone said he lived his life! RIP Phil, you deserve it!

Oct 11th

Well another mask order completed, that leaves one more of 5 left from September to catch up on. Then to go through my Christmas fabrics and decide which I'll use for masks and work on three orders on file!

SHEESH people wear your masks in public OR even in your family gatherings - if you must gather!!!!

Be thankful, be happy, but please be safe!
Thank you Colleen for sharing!

I'm still gonna make this hat one day, maybe not to wear, but as a table decoration!!!

Yeah!!!!!! Today I've caught up on my September orders, in the nick of time too! Now when I get back from my second trip to Dryden I'll start on those winter/Christmas mask orders I've noted.

Oct 12th

Three years ago for Len's 80th! So sad! RIP Len!!! ❤❤❤

WOW I didn't think we'd get anymore awesome Autumn days after the past few cool windy ones! Thank you Lord! It's so much more enjoyable for me to be with the crew and enjoy the back deck too, much to Griffin's annoyance cause he wants inside, whimpy boy! And some squirrel has Wheeler's attention, annoyed as all get out that we are out and he can't get to the seeds! Oh boy!

Couldnt see shooting into the sun, just hoped I'd have dogs and sqirrel! Oh well 2 out of three is good!

Friday n Saturday

Friday July 6th

WOW what a difference their yard is from last year!  Beautiful!  They've done lots to it.  Last year I helped prepare the front corner and along the garage flower bed, harvested and planted some of the flowers, ferns and refenced the centre garden area to allow for some working room.  She also had help from her family members too.  Then we marked, loosened and dug the holes for the trees before quitting for the night.

Only 2 ferns didn't survive.

So far the deer don't climb stairs.

Her daughter helped frame this bed in.

I dug out the rock bed and helped plant this one.  Awesome to see it so lovely.

From back of the garage to the house.

We refenced this 2 feet from the garden for ease when working there.

Saturday, July 7th

This morning we planted the trees they harvested earlier, pounded in half the posts and laid the black cloth.  Then we went to B&Bs for a lovely smorg breakfast (my birthday gift too).  Later this evening if it's cooler we'll finish the posts, edgings and fence them in so the deer can't get to them.  And here's what Sylvia is trying to finish off inside too along with some quilting!

Now this year's project - here will be the new privacy hedge.

Awesome!  It's already spoken for.

And this one she did earlier.

Well we went outside after 7 to finish off the posts, fenced in the trees and quit for the night - only one post went 6 inches in before hitting rock and wouldn't go the remaining 6 inches.  Yep I got my workout today!  Thankfully it was quite breezy so felt cooler!  Now we're relaxing!  Tomorrow going visiting and picking up the last tree for this hedge.  Don't know if we'll have the energy to plant it, anchor the landscaping fabric and top off with mulch!  Will see.  Would LOVE to have the finished pics too!

Don't make me laugh or I miss the centre and chip off pieces!
