Catchup - April 27th-30th

April 27th

Finally the rain/drizzle stopped and we are out relaxing!

And another baby gift finished!

BUMMER!!!  I thought the Jets may just make it a longer fight!  Guess too many injuries!!!

April 29th

WOW whatever that was it was short lived!  I was outside with the dogs when these fat raindrops started then intensified and started bouncing and making noise.  Didn't get the camera in time but looks like big sleet pebbles or tiny hail in the grass.  Dog walkers were just a clipping down the street!  Better not get worse as my car is out there!

OMGG!!!  So no bridge and ferry only in the not winter conditions otherwise!  WOW!!!

Hmmmm guess this is what hit us in the NE corner of Winnipeg today!  But I didn't hear any thunder.

April 30th

Good morning!!!!  It's a beautiful day and wish I had time to go for a walk with Edna, but not today!  I definitely don't believe the reported temperature!!!  It's so beautiful out on the usually windy deck and having my coffee outside with the crew before dressing for my brunch with Bravestone Centre.  Hope they all behave till I get back not like my last two venturing out!

Well the Bravestone Centre brunch at the Cabot Centre and my time to shine has arrived!  And I've met Natalie an MPQ member at my table and wants my quilt.  I've entered lots of tickets into the awesome baskets, many stained glass and jewellry I want.  😉

Okay this is really funny!!!  Sylvia is always saying I'm lucky, BUT I did not win even one of those lovely auction baskets, nor the beautiful table centre piece.  But I was called up to draw the winner of the $100 gift certificate for the East India Company Pub & Eatery.  Well I shuffled the envelopes inside that bucket behind my back LOTS then drew one.  🥁🥁🥁 Rose Anne Burdeny  🤣🤣🤣  I graciously declined, mine left out, reshufffled again and drew another!  Sorry but I just can't stomach the curry etc scents inside there never mind eat there.  So hopefully the winner can enjoy that prize mucho better!!!

But I did get a picture with Lori Thiessen who won my quilt!

Needless to say there were many women who said it was beautiful, loudly saying it's there's not your's, even one from MPQ, which made me feel awesome.  Thank you Aruna for asking about a donation!

Now relaxing with the dogs watching hockey!

Catchup - April 22nd-25th

 April 22nd

Well I was achy after errands with Sylvia and Edna, but happy to see Jacqui and Nester while at St. Vital Mall book sale.  So I cut it short and went home to relax before sewing.

Yeah I've finished the top of my mini Trippy Triangles wall hanging!  Just ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ it!!!  I'm thinking of doing a facing instead of binding it.  Will tackle that tomorrow!   10 1/4 x 16"

April 23rd

WOW WOW WOW!!!   I finally get to see them.  These were about 11pm at Birds Hill in eastern sky.

These were taken after midnight to about 1:30am.

This was the best display, wider and taller, and totally ruined by this jerk!!!

Well most vehicles have left so may as well call it a night too.  It was lovely except for a few shits!!!

April 24th

Dang forgot to post yesterday's first walk in ages with Edna!  It was lovely with sun and less wind in this tree lined development towards the west end of the park.  Talk about "houses"!

WOW!!!  Maybe a road trip to Brandon quilt shops too?

I hope to be going!

Today was iffy but I did my exercises and decided to go for an easy walk with Edna to the Forks for lunch!  Well out to walk back and I remembered my walking stick made by Len from Arizona that Sylvia gave to me back at the table.  Edna didn't know I could run, told her that was slower than my baseball playing days!  But it was still there Thank God!!!  Then walked back home with lots of stops to stretch out sore hip!

Then off to Sylvia's for a short walk with her too, with me the slowest one!!!  She has her NEWEST door hanger up, I ❤️❤️❤️ it!

After this I took Edna down Portage Ave with our first stop at Sargent Sundae for our first treat there for the year.

Then off to SuperStore for a bit of shopping before crashing at home.  So today I got in my steps but kinda aching!  Relaxing tomorrow!

Hope I can stay up for the JETS game tonight!!

A Productive Day

April 21st

A quiet day but very productive!  This morning I worked on my trippy triangles then met Dianne and joined others for some charity stitching this afternoon.  Then home and I think I've sewn up all my mini trippy triangle pieces, stitched up more mini HSTs leaders n enders and maybe decided my layout too!  Finished rectangles measure 1 5/8 x 3 3/4 inches.  Even made an easy but delish supper with leftovers!

OOOHHHHH and I found my very useful but totally forgotten small rotating cutting board I bought YEEEEEARS AGOOOO at one of my earlier quilting Western Retreats at Sylvan Lake AB, but for the life of me, not sure from WHOM!!!

1 5/8 x 2 1/8 inches (one half)

I've the black circle in the bag.

April 19th & 20th

April 19th

Talk about a busy day!  Slept in then rushed off to an appointment then lunch with Aruna at Joey's PP and to pass over my donated quilt for their fundraiser coming up.

Then a bit of shopping before another appointment, more shopping and then home to relax!

April 20th

Today Sylvia treated me to a Southdale Village Family Restaurant veggie skillet lunch before more shopping since yesterday yielded zippo! Today very much the same! Then back to her place and I washed my new fabrics in her tumble washer instead of my agitation washer that just about mangles them even on gentle. While that was happening we enjoyed a "sewing day" together!

Original idea.

Maybe final idea.

I worked on my miniaturized trippy triangles (those three in pieces need fixin') and she on her newest door hanger (hand embroidery with batik borders)! Yummy looking!!! AND she baked Pillsbury cinnamon buns for break time! AWESOME!!!

Guess Mother Nature is not finished with winter and snow yet!

Quiet Day

April 18th

Hope this recent threat doesn't dump this much!

Okay my "Flying Geese" PFA swap postcard is omplete and mailed off way head of time! I love when ideas pop into my head when topics are released, makes completion much easier! This time I've made one for myself as I've always wanted to try curved paper pieced flying geese miniaturized!!

And my Fringe Tatters group tatting Exchange is also winging it's way over seas today too!

After my physio session, I did some errands with Edna then we went to Oakwood Cafe for borscht and cheese toast for supper. We had the restaurant to ourselves plus undivided waiter attention till just before leaving when another table came in. Not their usual that's for sure!  Now relaxing with white out Jets tee and earring waiting for the game to begin!  GO JETS GO!!!!!
