Catchup - June 20th-24th

June 20th

Now this is HEAVEN in my books!!!! A coolish overcast summer morning with a slight breeze and breakfast on the deck! I definitely have to find an apartment with an east facing balcony!!! πŸ˜‡

June 21st

BOY was I ever glad I got mail today!!! Thank you Berel from our PFA group, for the very lovely CQd forget me nots (Alaskan flower) greeting card! I can tell you it won't be sent to anyone, I'm keeping it for myself! πŸ’–

And she thought she was late and sent me a lovely greeting card kit too! Which I did not think was necessary! But thank you very much!

And finally I finished off my friend's requested fitted masks, I hope these work out for the family! The pattern is adult sized and she wanted one large so I enlarged the pattern, but not sure if correctly! Guess I'll find out as I mentioned I'd fix if necessary!

June 22nd

Well my tester first block worked out perfectly to a 10.5" block! Now I can add the whites to all my nature I Spy blocks, then the corresponding nature sashings.

THEN it's to figure out whether I do a one colour sashing between blocks or leave it scrappy with an awesome nature border! Not really the Medicine Wheel colours but they are in there subtlely. I'm totally enjoying playing!

June 24th

What about a beautiful day, breakfast outside and the view out my sewing room window, but thankful the AC is on inside!!!!

Today I just may finish off my altered Square in a Square blocks for my donation quilt to an Indigenous child from our MPQ guild!

Okay this is just dumb! Who packs up to go sew at a friend's place and doesn't bring extra thread??? DUH, me!!! Lucky a fabric store is just 4 blocks away for a quick pick up!!!

Well all the blocks (left over fabrics from Taunya's nature duvet and more) are sewn and kinda placed for my nature I Spy quilt, may be switched around some before sewing up. I don't think I'll put a sashing in between the rows. Just that brown/blue fabric I found in my stash to fill in triangles and a 2" border around. I'm also too tired to figure out what size it'll be - finished block size is 10". This is for our Guild's call for quilts for Indigenous children here in Winnipeg/Manitoba.

Catchup - May 15th-16th

May 15th

WOW Saturday was sewing with the Aurora gals, then picked up Peking Chinese to have supper with Sylvia before that brief wind storm sent me home early.

Awesome family time and learning too!

May 16th

WOW!!! Haven't a clue if I'd recognize these before stepping into them! YIKES!!!

May 16th

Today started off with another local walk with Edna but in the morning as it's getting too warm for my liking in the afternoons.

Then worked on a CRAZY! postcard swap, for mailout by month's end, and using the reverse heart for a friend's just because card, hope it makes it to Cuba. Tatted Allison's Edging from Be-Stitched.com using Lizbeth #154 Wildflower Garden, size 20.

Postcard for my swap.

Using the cut away heart for another card.

Tomorrow it's back to the RCMP quilt binding and also start the two accent pillows. I also need to finish off the International Sisters Blocks mystery quilt by mid-June! I think I need some down time soon!!!

Christmas 2019

Dec 23rd

Happy Birthday Cindy!  Thank you Amy for including me!  Awesome evening at Santa Lucia's!  Walked over catching the sunset, enjoyed some wind and walked home!  Lovely evening!  Sorry I'm sure I've missed some pictures!  And my tatted angel is hanging out with Cindy now!

Just about forgot me!

And some of her gifts!

She hanging out with Cindy now!

Thank you so very much Barbara M from the UK for this lovely Lizbeth Metallic Sand Dollar bell for the latest Fringe Tatters exchange.  Yes you are right, in my opinion, that bells should be metallic!  It is awesome!  I love these exchanges!

WOW WEE!!!   Today was my mail day for sure!  First my Fringe Tatters exchange then a few friends shared a private exchange.  My friend Margaret from Cooroy Australia sent me a notebook with her own hand work cover creation and card!  Lovely, thank you Margaret!

Christmas Eve

Hope the magic of Christmas makes your spirit merry and bright.   πŸ•―πŸ•Š
May the sights and sounds of this lovely holiday season bring lasting memories to brighten the new year ahead.  🌲☃️πŸŽΆπŸŽ‰
Wishing you all warm and friendly wishes for a very Merry Christmas πŸŽ„ and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year πŸŽ‰!
Love and Hugs, Rose Anne πŸ€—πŸ’ž

Well I ventured out for some groceries as my plans for this week were unexpectedly changed and I'm staying put till Friday!  I found Polo Park and Safeway very quiet for a change.  I leisurely strolled through the whole two floors before stopping at the Nespresso Boutique and getting a few packages of coffee capsules to start to enjoy my new Innisia. Safeway was awesome, barely 5 minutes in line and out the door!

Once home I find more Christmas cards and another gift, honestly thought that was it for me yesterday!  First Nancy n Stefan sent me their Christmas picture and then one of Hamish for me!

Then Katie surprised me with her handmade dishcloths and a CD.  Thank you sweetie!

Now feet up and later on to enjoy my salmon dinner!

Hey I'm watching The Christmas Club movie and they just went to Baked Expectations for cocoa etc!  WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!

πŸŽ„ Christmas Day πŸŽ„ has been quiet for me, no family, friends or pet sitting this year.  I've watched loads of movies and sewed up all the Canada blocks to bring me up to date.  Just two more weeks/blocks and this CQA BOM will be complete.  Then it's working on the shadows, sashings and borders before it can be sent to the quilter!  I truly can't believe I've kept up with this program besides a few hiccups!

2018 TIAS - Days 1 through to 15

OK here's the 2018 TIAS tatting mystery in groups for comparison to the last.

2018 TIAS - finished

Glad it was not any colder this morning as Edna and I joined the winter walking group in Woodhaven Park for a good hour walk.  The sun was nice and as we walked the scenic residential area but on the way back the north wind was stinging on the face.

Then home for a bit of cleaning and planning on purging etc.

AND I finished off my tatted mermaid.  I love her and maybe add her to my Under The Sea crazy patch embellishing piece I taught online in the Canadian Crazy Quilting group years ago.

Colouring!

Talk about a relaxing morning and bringing back memories of my art past time!  The other day Monica from Aunt Monica's Attic asked Michelle and myself to colour a flag for the store.  These she'll string together and hang around her store showcasing her customer's and her own Doodlewart images.  What a great idea and naturally I started planning my trademark crazy quilted flag.  Let me tell you this was harder than with fabric which you can rip out and resew another piece in if you're not happy.  In the end I'm thrilled with the results and even hand quilted and beaded the flag?

My planning stage.

My personalized flag.
