Cliff Lake - Aug 25th-28th

Aug 25th

ON THE ROAD AGAIN!!!  Lunch at the Keewatin Co-op.
To Cliff Lake Trailer Park Resort for a week!
Even my t-shirt on too!

We've arrived at Cliff Lake RV Park and have a one bedroom trailer for two of us as the two bedroom larger trailer's fridge conked out and the part is not available to attempt fixing till maybe next week. AWESOME, more room.
We've decided breakfasts in our trailer and lunch n suppers in Sylvia and Pat's so we've divided the food between the two fridges and extra food for latter part of the week in our freezer too and switch when needed.

Sylvia and Pat's,  lots easier for Sylvia as less clutter.

Pat's cooking tonight.

And a king sized bed.  Also has a separate toilet and shower stall.

And pictures of Edna's and mine follow.

Edna's and my trailer, 2 bedroom and older.

My bedroom.

Edna's larger bunk for sleeping.  Also that door is the toilet and 3/4 sized tub with shower.

Beautiful day!!!

Pat caught on fast after my demo last night and this morning finished one flower, but Sylvia said it played her out!

A productive afternoon for all of us in lovely outside.  Pat is cutting out more hexies and us three sewed.

Edna's placemats.

Sylvia's table topper, colours undecided.

My smaller version table topper centre.

Forgot to post the rest of the day photos.

AWESOME mixed veggies, shrimp and mixed rice supper.

My first hexies table topper, 2" across point to point.

Well one full day finished! It started on a sad note, my sister Elsie's hubby, Pete, passed away after years of illness. Sad but also a blessing for him and his family. He was a sweetie like Len, probably found each other again! 💞💞💞

One side of the lake has the sunset.

The other has the moon rising.

One Yahtzee game before going back to our trailer.

Aug 25th

Today was a very productive day for all of us, Pat even got to stretch outside and read again. I sewed up three more mini blocks, each is 4 - 2" HST blocks. Edna sewed quite a few blocks on her quilt today. Sylvia and Pat both worked on their hexies, going great guns!

She went for her first stroll on gravel.

Pat joined her after taking the above picture.

AND today I got two of my favourite meals, grilled hotdogs for lunch and taco salad for supper. WOW!!! This time I didn't forget any toppings!!! Then relaxed after supper with games of Cribbage and Yahtzee before turning in.

Grilling whiners for hot dog lunch.

Company a calling!

Just about ready to chow down taco salads.

My plated salad.

Edna having more, so did the girls, not me as I piggy out on first helping!

Catchup - Aug 17th-24th

I hope this is true, something good out of so much disaster!

Aug 18th

So now that I'm feeling lots better and my tatting and postcard swaps mailed off, I'm getting things together for the family lake sewing escape. Besides my tatting projects I need completed ASAP, I'll be working on a HSTs NICU quilt top and maybe a mini HSTs wall hanging top for myself. So I'm finally prepping my stash of leaders n enders, next is squaring off, sorting by fabrics and picking out project ones. I gave up standing, relocated, lowered my ironing board etc to couch level and catching some TV too!
So I've finished pressing, now ready for the new HSTs 2.5" Block-Loc ruler squaring up tomorrow to whatever size fits. 😉 Then I'll choose whichever for my two projects. As you can see I still have 2/3s of the container full with HST cutoffs to be matched and sewn together. More NICU quilts I'm thinking, small and maybe quick finishing?

See my new ruler in the centre of the blue fabric?

Aug 19th

So I'm at Aurora at the Charleswood 55Plus Centre, no ZOOM sorry, and working on my HSTs trimmings. So far they are 1.5 and 1.75 inch sizes. This will make up to 2" - 4 HST squares and 2.5" - 4 HST squares. Okay for my mini project but might have to go larger for the NICU project.

Shoot I took this picture earlier during my supper and then went back to squaring my HSTs. I cleaned my cutting mat three times and changed my blade but still struggling. Might need a new turning mat. So most of today I got about a third of the way through!!! Lots to finish off by Friday!!!

Aug 20th

So much for my lazy day! Edna wanted some advice, so I brought my HSTs to visit and help her too.

Does anyone from Western Retreat recognize my cutting mat?

I can now put her name on the back "Made By Eddie Edwards". The mat fell off after i dropped it onto the floor so i Contact Cement it back together. It's perfect for these mini HSTs squaring up. Also my friend Ruth found these "Baby Wipes" containers and they're perfect project holders.

I'm sharing 'just in case' my fellow quilters/stitcher/crafters in my friends can help out! Please contact the original person directly if you have information. Thank you!

Hmmmm sounds lots easier than cutting kernels off for blanching.

Aug 23rd

OOOOHHHHH that was "thunder"!!!!! The clouds today were dark and kinda threatening but nothing really happened except a brief shower late afternoon. Maybe something this evening?

Aug 24th

WTH!!!! I've received '14' same alerts to Winnipeg T-storm just now. HUH???

AND go figure!!!
My AC shut down just now, instant sweltering in here. I quickly drained the water tank, this time connected the hose for continuous draining and cleaned the filter too. Hit the switch and instant cold air coming through. YEAH!!!

OMGG!!! And I got nothing downtown as yet except a LOUD crack of thunder 4ish but zippo. It sure looks nasty out now and trees are whipping around.
SORRY, should have said Regent and Day in Transcona. Aunt Monica's Attic window shot.

I just looked out the window and WOW!!!
