Post Christmas #3

Dec 29th

Brrrrr!!!  It's Cold Outside Baby!!!  The outside door was stiff to let the dogs out!  Sun Dogs on either side of the sun but kinda faint for a picture.

And it's gonna be like this until January 4th n 5th, a slight break of balmy weather!  Then back to normal like winter?

Well no warmer temperature wise the afternoon, BUT no wind and lovely sun out! I cleared the deck while they wandered around. Once onto the deck I took a couple pictures and let everyone inside. Not fun times for more than 5-10 minutes for them that's for sure, windy times it's less!

❄️ Well I started my car lots easier since it's plugged in and moved it to clean the rest of the driveway!  😉  Now hopefully clean for me till Angie's back!

Ohhh awesome display for Christmas Village and other types of decor! ❤❤❤

Hmmmmm this cold spell has ganged up with Omicron and canceling lots lately! But canceling sports is being health conscious for all involved. But canceling Angie's flight from Edmonton tomorrow is not something I thought would happen! She wants to get home so badly! 😒🙏 💞

But one good thing is my Covid test was 'negative', something to be very thankful for and leaving me comfortable visiting Sylvia! Just not sure about restaurants with these new numbers though!

Another thing is today I've sewn up two more Trash Quilt blocks, maybe, just maybe I'll have enough for a quilt top sooner than later! Maybe another two blocks if I'm still here tomorrow?

Post Christmas #2

Dec 28th

Well another quiet day but started off weird!  Sam would not go out, not gonna work with me!  So tied my houseboat tighter and boots on out I go, sure enough he follows and takes off playing and checking I'm still there too!  So I scrapped off the 2" that accumulated overnight!  BRRRRR!!!  Crazy rescue dog that lived outside before!

This afternoon I went to visit Sylvia and work on the Christmas puzzle I bought with her. Last night she was not thrilled with my choice but did manage to put the border together except for one alusive piece and separate same type pieces. Well it took me not even 10 minutes and I totally agree with her that it's a CRAZY puzzle, mainly because of the crazy shapes and not so secure joins! Oh well we persevered for a couple hours and managed to put sections within together, but both had had enough! 🤪🤪🤪

See the tin by the cushion!  The poster on the right!

Crazy shaped pieces!

The poster.

And this is where we stopped at!

I'll go back New Year's Eve with Peking Chinese for our supper, hockey and more puzzle time!!!

But I also got a lovely cookie tin instead of a box, but it was pricey, verdicts still out if worth it yet! Oh well, eventually I'll redo it at home and Modge Podge it for Christmas decor! The tin a storage for various decor.

Once home I was back at my attempt of the Trash Quilt blocks, basically Crumb Quilt blocks I think. Well I've brought one recycle bag three quarters full of scrappy pieces not sorted at all. This was a bag to go to Adeline but she's slowing down on scrappies, and too good for doggie beds!

Well it started out sewing 2 pieces together, then two 2sies together becoming 4 pieces, then two 4sies together becoming 8 pieces, then two 8sies becoming 16 pieces, then two 16sies becoming 32 pieces and lastly two 32sies becoming the 64 piece block squared up as large as possible.

Hmmmm I've sewn up 6 blocks and truly don't see a dent in the stash yet? But a growing scrap ends bag for doggie beds! I think this is going to be real fun time assembling a quilt top of various sized blocks with sashing between, but most have all or just about all the sewn 64 pieces inside the block.

Not sure if this table has seen the likes of my sewing projects! Tomorrow is my the last sewing day so wonder how far I get before cleaning up!

Post Christmas

Dec 27th

Ohhhh myyyy!!!!  That sidewalk and driveway was clear to the pavement.  Also back deck morning paw prints of these three ALL covered over nice and pristine two hours after!  I'll have my work cut out for me!  It's supposed to continue into tomorrow.

Wheels just loves this weather and keeping me busy! 🤣🤣🤣 The other two couch babies!

Phewie! Hope the forecast is right and it's slowing down! Out we all went but shucks no help from the Three Amigos (Angie's name for them) shoveling the 6 inches accumulated overnight and today on the deck n stairs! Well I knew there were stairs but nah I missed a step, thankfully no injury! I've had my exercise!

Evening update! Well I thought I should clean off my car so when the snow cleaners come, I can move my car back onto the cleaned area for them to do the front driveway! Yeah right 6 inches high front to back and naturally three swipes for each path! But it's done now with wet boots where drifts were higher!!! ☺☺☺

YEAH YEAH YEAH!!! 👏👏👏  The snow cleaners were just here. All is good if I wanna go somewhere now! NOT!!! 🤣🤣🤣

WOW, WOW, WOW!!!  This is Victoria, my friend is waiting for a spot on the ferry to return back to mainland BC!

I stayed home either sewing or watching Jr hockey between doggie duties!

Merry Christmas

Dec 25th

A very quiet Christmas!  Doggie door duty, sewing my Trash Quilt blocks up while watching/listening to Christmas movies and music.

I'm using the RR Designs Trash Quilt tutorial video, seven step process with my scrap bag!  I've sewn up 2sies, 4sies, 8sies, 16sies, 32sies with 64sies the last step before squaring off.   Depending on my block size I'll be sewing a top together later on with narrow sashing between!!!!!   For you quilters, here's the link

All that sewing past two days and only 3 finished blocks?????  I've given up and relaxing with some wine and feet up!

Great idea!

Dec 26th

Okay trying to have my coffee when Sam decided it was play time and Wheeler obliged! Griffin just relaxed! Then tug-a-war changed fast to a wrestling match and get out of their way. Like kids I intervened with easy or enough to tone it down! And as fast as it start it fizzled out with Wheeler needing a snow snack to cool down! Back in and quiet time but Sam still wants to play, so squeaky toys it was!!! And some whining too!

Griffin not getting involved!

Then Wheeler teased!

And the challenge was on!

Sam got it!

A pause?

Nope, strategic planning was happening!

Kids!!!

Fun times ae done with?

Instant cool down outside and in.

Ahhhh play more please?

Fine I'll pull out toys!

A few whines too!

Hmmmm very brief fun!

Lovely late Santa Lucia pizza lunch with Sylvia (both have leftovers) and a couple hours to finish off the puzzle she had started! It seemed easy but was quite deceiving and brand new with one piece missing! HOW?

So we checked the couch cushions and then on my knees searching under the couch. Hmmmm nothing visible but a shadow spotted, so swiped my hand on the carpet and sure enough a ways under was the piece! YEAH!!!

OMGG!!!! I truly want to do something like this with my favourite fabrics, miniaturized naturally! And obviously using my fancy button stash!!!!!
