This n That

Sept 29th

Ohhhh look what is Red and White that arrived in my mailbox on Monday, the 25th, from Fayth H of Glen Allen VA!  A beautiful machine embroidered motif even has a ladybug in it and pearls with the caption BLESSINGS postcard.  Thank you so much!  I also used the lovely pearlized grey envelope as a background.  The postcard was also hand cancelled before enclosing!  💞💞💞

Not sure if anyone on my list is like me, wants one serving of apple crisp not a panful for the next few days to finish up! And since I'm getting these garden apples I thought I'd share Sylvia's microwave apple crisp recipe. I sometimes halve it and that way use up my portioned frozen apples just for me when I want a quick dessert! 😋

Ohhhh you can also throw in other fruits for variety! Yummy berry crisp too with rhubarb! *** And I don't see any cinnamon in there, either on the apples or in the crumble! ***

Beautiful!!!!

Well considering I was still achy, I accomplished more than I thought I'd do. First off I was determined to find my special border cotton prints so hopefully next week Sylvia will guide me through the steps for the spiral table topper, something other than ABC quilts. This was a gift for her friend, but mine will be smaller.

Hmmmm I just about gave up as my shoulder started aching too! I'm falling apart!!! BUT after a bit of a rest, I persisted dismantling the piles in front of the closet and putting fabrics in like piles or into appropriate bins and lo n behold they were in the last bottom bin!!! So hopefully I can work on another of my UFOs and have a couple reversible new table toppers.

Then I took off and ran some errands before getting back into the sewing room, this time pulling out various fancy fabrics, laces and trims to pass onto Monica to hopefully assist in dressing up these dolls that are in need of new outfits! SHEESH, I managed to stuff to the rafters an 11" xerox paper box full. There is one baggie of my favourite greens, if she doesn't use it for my doll, then I'll get that back for my crazy patch project. 😉

Just had more of Florence's garden tomatoes in toasted cheese sandwishes for supper! Feet up and relaxing now!

Catchup - Sept 23rd-28th

Sept 23rd

WOW neat sky while out on errands!
And I forgot Angela's lovely garden too!

Cool recycling!

Well much better visiting with the crew in FALL temperatures, we can be outside longer and no BUGS nor snowy packed paws!!! Yep fed and business taken care of so back to snoozing! Except silly Wheels the biggest tried to snuggle into the lab's bed before going to the floor!

Ohhhh yummy! I had the leftover stuffed Zucchini, ceasar salad and finished with dessert. Yes a serving of Edna's apple crisp sans ice cream and a scrumptious Nespresso with pumpkin spice creamer!

Sept 24th

WOW, it's definitely fall out there! This tree is just starting to turn and the coleus is sooooo beautiful, that I hope frost holds off some so we can enjoy the beautiful turning of colours to the ninth!!!!

OOOOOHHHHHHH here's one the wait staff took for us! I treasure these vacation photos with my online friends that I actually get to meet in person!

On this trip I met up and/or stayed a bit with Vivienne in Perth, Maria in Horvat, Tasmania, Margaret in Cooroy/Noosa National Park, Merle in Newcastle, Leanne of Sydney in Australia, but in New Zealand it was with Jo of Auckland and Sandra H of Christchurch, all I still keep in touch with via FB, texting and emails.

In Australia I missed out visiting Maureen B. of Lock Sport a ways from Melbourne and Sharon B not far from Sydney, because of travel logistics and other commitments.
I pray I can meet other online friends on my Amsterdam, Netherlands, Paris, France and London n Stratford Upon Avon, England trips July 2023.

WHAT??????
OHHHHH!!! I can't stand these posts that rant on and on without saying much or so long I I've up trying to find the pertinent information!!!!

Great idea! Thanks for sharing Susan!

Sept 25th

I still love this picture and since have not had a repeat sitting! ❤️❤️❤️

Ohhhh I like this one too! I've a chair she may sit in too!

It's warmed up and I'm out having Angie's fresh garden tomato toasted sandwich. And the dogs are being lazy outside with me. Just wish these wind gusts would ease up, sounds like this old awning is going to take off!!!
As gusts picked they all grouped by the door waiting to go in and do this! 🤣

Going down memory lane today!

Well way back I think in 2014 on our trip to Ireland for a quilt show tour we met Lana Leech from Saskatchewan. She invited me to stop by on my return from the BC auto trip I made and got to see her AWESOME porcelain etc doll collection! LOTS throughout the house and sadly her family weren't interested in any except the brides with matching daughter's dresses she gifted. I asked her if she'd sell any but not! I wonder if she still has them?

Anyways I've now a chance from another source to collect a few and can't wait till I can pick them up! So beautiful!!!!

Christmasy looking!

She's a musical one.  I've a golden wooden chair I'm wondering if she'll sit in?

This one maybe!

Now I really have to get cracking and dress up my childhood 24" doll (Sylvia n Len bought for me) so she can get out of that tee-shirt of mine!

Sept 27th

Well another fabric postcard is winging it's way internationally today. This was for a Red and White PFA swap and I could not resist including another of my tatted projects along with some lace and buttons, Tatted Heart was adapted by Barbara Foster from a design by J.M. Blackman appearing in Modern Priscilla magazine in 1917. I found it in Handy Hands 2021 catalogue and on their website under free patterns.

Today I picked up Edna and drove to Kildonan Park to meet up with Michelle for a walk plus get some of her yummy apples too! In the meantime we also met up with my excoworker Nestor who also walked with us!

HUGE!!!

Interesting structure!

GIGANTIC tree behind Rainbow Stage.

Afterwards I picked up Santa Lucia pizza and Edna and I joined Sylvia for supper and dropped off most of the apples for her and Diane to share.  And look at Sylvia's new door hanger!

Then I dropped off some with Audrey before dropping off Edna and her apples then heading home to rest! My leg gave me grief walking today, lucky I had my walking stick!

OMGG it was sooooo awesome to gather with our local Lace group! I sure missed those ladies! And even was gifted an awesome embroidery book!  Thank you Jacqui!  💞

The only thing is the gatherings are 9:30am and gosh that was a bit rough making it today with my back and hip pain plus a sinus headache! Oh well I got there even if not my usual self!

Then off to drop off my Churchill gift with coffee and a fritter to Barb at eork before heading over to Angela's to drop off ger fifth and apples from Michelle! What a beautiful day but not up to even a brief walk but I chose an outdoors visit with Angela.
