Catchup - Sept 9th-18th

Sept 9th

What a Beauty!!!!

Sept 10th

Well we were packed up and in the car 9 am and shortly after on the road. We didn't really encounter any construction until into Keewatin as highway twinning preblasting etc was on the other side of the ditches.

We met sweetie Adeline at Boston Pizza and passed on 4 and 1/2 grocery bags of fabric scraps for her charity quilts. Wonder how long it'll take her this time to press and sort them for her projects? Last time she was finished that day by bedtime! Then checked out Fragile Glass and talk about beautiful jewelry, home decor and crafts, a must stop place. One last stop at Born to Quilt where a deer came to check us out before picking up the last of our groceries. Last leg of Adventure Bound!!!

Moose Creek where we'd hoped to get our Polar Bear picture!  Yeah the young guy cropped it too tight!
Taco salad for supper!  Yummy and easy!

Sept 11th

Enjoying our first day with a zip into Perrault Falls to show Edna around then back to the trailer for whatever. And extra company.

Meanie pine beetle!!!

Too warm for me inside!

Pat relaxing, enjoying the peace n quiet!

The Camp's dog!  Very friendly,
even into the trailer and car!!!

Well Edna and I skunked Pat an Sylvia the first Cribbage game but the second win was closer! Talk about loads of laughing and no alcohol!!! Sylvia said she'll skunk us tomorrow!!!

Sept 12th

WOW what a lovely view between our trees of the setting sun yesterday! Pat's photo from yesterday's walk.

And then this morning we've the camp to ourselves, I think, and "Another beautiful day in Paradise".  Me playing again!

Yesterday's stroll!

Yeah!!!!! We're all outside stitching with the birds now! It's soooooooo awesome!!!!!

Awesome all day so far!!!

I can't believe it! WOW!!!

Sept 13th

Today we were up too dang early!!! I was the only one rudely woken by mouse activity below my closed in bunk bed, then 7:50am on the highway to Dryden to have breakfast with Florence n Roy and Lorette and Gary at B&Bs, lovely! Then a drive around to show Edna various old haunts and lucky enough to see several bark/wood chip trucks (from harvested trees in the bush) unloading at the mill. This process took about 5 minutes per truck.

We'd just arrived.

One on the right is coming down, one on left going up.

Halfway up!

Just about upright, hope it's anchored in place!

Coming down.

Driver getting in.  Truck on right gone.

New truck pulling up.

On left leaving, on right driving into place.

New one on left driving up.

This was the one on the left leaving for a new load.

On righthas his back open and some chips unloading.  One on left is just getting ready.

Now both unloading, getting anchored, but will be raised to empty both boxes (somehow joined).  And another emptied and leaving.

This is the chips after going through conveyors into the mill and ground up to sawdust?

A stop into The Quilting Trunk quilt shop for some must haves and a bit of shopping before heading back to the RV Park. On the way we took a side trip to Camp Robinson where Sylvia and Len first lived after their brief stay in Dryden after marrying. Kinda scary for Pat driving as it's now a pulp cutting area with signs saying semi pulp truck activity (didn't meet any) but at least they widened the road some. But it's totally grown in! Once back on the highway Pat took a relieved breathe and relaxed some! 💞

Now we're all relaxing and reading outside for awhile!

Ohhhh my, tonight Sylvia was very cheeky in our Cribbage game! Totally mixing me up and Pat quickly following her lead! Behave girls! Yesterday it was Edna that stirred the pot, today them, just cause I wanted to play longer instead of going to bed so early!!! MOMMMMMM!!!

Sept 14th

Wednesday's projects on a coolish cloudy day at Cliff Lake.

Sept 15th

Well a very lackadaisical day with the highlight of lunch at the Whiskey Jack for some honest to goodness home cooking and camaraderie.

Then we checked into MPQ meeting via ZOOM and played more Cribbage afterwards. It got chillier and the furnace kept sputtering so luckily the owner dropped by and switched propane tanks as temps dropped overnight.

Sept 16th

Well not so temperate today! Their dig wants Edna to play not shower. After lunch we're heading back to Dryden to drop in (this guild encourages visitors to drop by whenever) and say HI and shop even at the vendors. Yes the Sunset Country Quilters Quild are finally back to gathered retreats. We'd already booked our own quilting escape so passed on this event this year. Their Quilt Show will be end of October.

Coolish drizzling day visiting our Dryden friends! First at the retreat for awesome five vendor shopping, then passing time downtown browsing/shopping, before meeting Sylvia's friends for a very chatty supper! We had slow service but delicious food! Then the hour long drive back to the trailer and settle down with a few games of Cribbage before bed!

Sept 17th

Well a repeat of yesterday but we had to pack up today and head back! As if it wasn't a long enough drive in the drizzling rainy day but I took a WRONG turn and passed by Rushing River heading towards Sioux Narrows before I realized and turned around and took the correct turnoff to Kenora!

So back home, feet up, supper downed, enjoying my treats of Chocolate covered Sponge Toffee - OHHHHH SO SWEET!!!!!

Sept 18th

Today was slow mode but I did pick up Sylvia and toured a few of her chosen art studios that opened up for the Charleswood area studio tour! I picked up some greeting cards of artists works, a picture, pottery dish and an awesome tote bag!
