Catchup. - Nov 1st-9th

Nov 1st

 Nov 2nd

After numerous Dr appointments over the past three years, about my sporadic pain and an xray pointing to a couple compressed vertebrae, sciatic and lots of arthritis, was basically told to find nonsurgical solutions. Prior to my vacation I was referred to a sports Dr and hopefully a cortisone shot, but not in time to relieve painful movements. Finally July 30th I had a consultation and was told no shot in the hip as the pain stems from my lower back and requested an MRI. On Thursday I had a call from Boundary Trails for a Sunday 2pm MRI.

I pray some kind of solution results from this. Yes I've done physio and it helps but it's not a fix and I don't care to rely on meds and rubs daily. Some days I'm not even sewing!!!

Nov 4th

Oooohhhhh I'd like to make this on a smaller scale though!!!

Nov 7th

DAMN, DAMN, DAMN!!!! 😪

It's been FIVE days without hot water!!! There better be some when I get home from my Craft Sale so I can soak these sore old bones!!!!

We're set up! Ready to welcome whomever ventures to visit this Craft Sale.

Yeah after 5 days we now have HOT water! BUT watch it as it's steaming HOT - ridiculous. I feel bad for those with children as it scalding hot.

Catchup - March 26th-31st

March 26th

I forgot to post this yesterday!!!  I was going to have supper with Sylvia and promptly called Norma to join us!  I'm bad as it's been a long time since my welcome back visit!  We had a nice chat at the St Vital food court together!  Maybe our next visit won't be as long a wait?

Then I took Sylvia to the puzzle exchange in the NE corner parking lot.  She exchanged 3 of her puzzles for different ones, then we bought 3 other ones at reduced prices but slightly more than thrift store prices, but being puzzle enthusiasts I'm sure all pieces are there whereas thrift finds are iffy.  We'll probably do a 500 piece one after the MPQ Quilt Show before stopping till fall!

Then over to Edna's for her homemade apple crisp (lastof Florence's apples) and ice cream!!!

Thank you ladies!

Mar 27th

Ohhh what a nice surprise after running errands today!  I was dropping off cotton thread to Jacqui and she invited me up to see their new apartment home.  I just LOVE it!  ❤️

Then I thought I'd stop into The Bay for the liquidation sale for some needed undies!  Well talk about very disappointing - 15% reduction store wide - ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!  The prices were ridiculous to begin with, so I turned around and went home.  I guess the liquidators don't want to sell the stock now, they must have plans for it otherwise!

OMGG!!! Guess the forecast is not lying!!! Safe travels to all!!!

Taken at 4:45 pm

Taken 5:08 pm - can't see the block across the river, maybe a block away.

Taken 5:27pm - increasing in intensity.

Mar 28th

I finished round #4 of Halyna GailWeaver Dema pineapple doily on Wednesday, but didn’t bury the ends until tonight. I'll continue with this Daisy size 20 Cream but also with my lovely Lizbeth size 20 in #179, I like the tatting better but not sure about the colour. I had to pin down this round to see it flat.

Mar 29th

WOW!!! Wish I saw this year's ago!!!

WOW, I love this idea!  Now to find them

Mar 30th

Oooohhhhh I think I may have to scrap this Daisy cotton. Obviously my tatting is tight and when I'm easing up chains or rings this thread snaps. It's either too old or my tension too tight!!!

I finished the round but very discouraged.

Mar 31st

Family fun!!! First off my sister Marlene has, in my mind, miraculously flown to Cuba with family and is having a wonderful time! AWESOME!!!

Then today after an achy exercise session, I went over to Sylvia's and helped her finish off her landscape wall hangings (for MPQ quilt show boutique) and some shopping!

Once home I did mid-day exercises, relaxed on heat before tackled burying all the ends of my Row 5 of Halyna GailWeaver Dema Pineapple Doily. That Daisy cotton thread is trying my patience!!!

Catchup - Dec 13th-14th

Dec 13th

Nifty!!!

I'm glad I was not in Winnipeg till 1973! One huge blizzard was enough for me!

Dec 14th

Today was ACQs Christmas potluck party (awesome decorations and fabulous foods) and a lovely time with friends.

Even a fun time with the pincushion pick n steal game alongwith a hilarious spool snatch game (needle minders prizes were made by Barb F) followed with a group picture!!!

My choice was A Pincushion to Tat pattern by Marion T. Leyds found in Pieceworks, March/April 2015.

The pincushion I finally ended up with was made by Jackie J.

Thank you for this unique pincushion - that I'll not being sticking pins into!!! It was very popular and stolen a few times!

Catchup - Dec 1st-2nd

Dec 1st

I'm having a quiet day again, BUT I did starch the remaining snowflakes (#41 by Robin Perfetti in Four Dozen Snowflakes) for Majia and the two bookmarks (Butterfly Bookvine by Kimberley Donahue) I tatted this week. The butterflies are from leftover thread on the shuttles that I used up before rewinding for the next one! DUH me only brought two shuttles, I've lots at home!!!

And now while dogs are napping, I'm watching sappy Christmas movies until the Jets game, probably again restricted and will have to listen to radio playby!

WOW lovely country door decor, but I'd personally leave out the roses. Maybe other woodsy floral?

Dang!!! There goes my merits on this baby, 6 years clean! See I did a solid bump to the car in front of me and very little damage but she says she's reporting it! We were slowing down to a stop on Maryland prior to Wolsely but I was a bit too close and road a bit slick but not icy. My license plate holder is bent slightly and she has two scratches and impression from the contact. We exchanged licenses and insurance but I forgot to get her phone number, nor she mine. 🤔

Catchup - Sept 21st

Well I decided to check out Pineridge Hollow even though it was raining this morning and all was a soupy clay parking lot. Nearly landed on my butt as my sandals were slipping. Had an juicy loaded chicken burger and "beet juice" ceasar - which was awesome. I enjoyed the fresh air, shops and ambiance! Even bought myself a cactus and fancy pot, now hope I don't kill it. The lady ensured if I set it in water and let it absorb from the bottom till soil is damp then let excess drain before putting it in the no drain pot, once a month then it should survive ME!!! Easy peasy right!!!

Catchup - March 24th-31st

March 24th

So today I pulled out my BAGFUL of various Canadian themed cottons and sewed up these four blocks.  They will be taken to Quilt Canada by Tanis for me (thank you) and donated for their sewing of quilts during the convention.   www.quiltsforsurvivors.ca

March 26th

Today I finally stitched up my ACQ mystery blocks #13 and #14 for March. Not sure there is a next set or instructions for layouts and assembly! This has been a couple of rough days but sewing has helped to keep me distracted.

March 27th

Ohhhh boy I must be sick!!!

See, I'm looking for some special threads the Lace girls want and at the same time gone through laces and started sorting them to give away to my friend's Teulon library crafts n to Monica.

Ohhhh and I found the small tub of batik scraps I used on those green HSTs blocks that I'd put away and couldn't find a few months ago. So now they are out for my mini hanger!

Maybe I'll soon get most of my crafting supplies out and get my fabrics out of boxes and into bins and maybe on the shelves? I've a couple more recipients for fabrics etc so may do quite a bit of purging in that poor sewing room. I'd love to tackle more in there but I'll listen to my body!!!

March 28th

Maybe a new idea with reject or thrift jeans?  Stuff the legs with polyfil, stuff a tee shirt in waistband and stitch closed, add toys to pockets, then anchor legs in a lap-like position.  VOILA a cat bed!!!

Now while looking for specific threads I came across a big baggie of various sized HSTs PLUS a baggie of these blocks and scraps. My initial thought was to pack them up to Adeline but then decided to make up more freebie NICU tops. The rail fence one is short 3 blocks so pulled out my fabric and cut three to fit in. Thank you whomever passed these onto me!

March 29th

Happy Easter!!!  I just love this mini tea cup idea!

Oh oh!!! It's sneaking back in again!

March 30th

Hmmmmm the excitement of seeing me is fast over. And Riggs, the foster B&W boxer, is a fast handle door opener BUT doesn't close it after all are inside. So you need to lock it after yourself to keep him out with others!!! Fun and games!

Just love this idea!  Even for towels in the bathroom!

March 31st

Wouldn't these be cute in your garden?

WOW!!! I saw this bright spot through the trees out front. It's the sunset on the windows across the river on the apartment block on Rivr Ave. Then looked towards the west and saw this block just across the river on Roslin Road also awash in sun! WOW!!! But missed seeing the church spire aglow!
