Down Time!!!

Well I briefly saw Barb at work, then zipped over to Judy's to pick up my prizes before heading to Angela's! It was awesome to sit in her back yard and catch up some, actually a pleasant day! Bruce had a couple of questions in regards to my two repairs so answered that and we're on the same page! Hmmmmm what am I gonna make with these?  Thank you to the MPQ Executive for the basket of FQs and Design Wall for the B&W FQ assortment!  I appreciate all the quilt shops sponsorship at Guild events!

Shoot I forgot the label on my hanger so got right on it. Nothing fancy just info traced from computer printed page taped under the fabric label on the window for decent form and placement! And a couple times when I stopped I could barely find the needle and black thread! Now it's hanging in my living room!

Hmmmmm where's my needle?

Not bad match I say!

Glad I have some of these store bought labels.

MPQ Day!

PHEWIE!!!! I hated missing out on 3 sewing days to clear the three window areas for FIVE flippin' MINUTES of measuring for replacement windows. So last night I set up my sewing area and today from 9am to 5pm straight through worked on my shop hop hanger! I'm exhausted and hungry! Thank you Sylvia for inviting me for my favourite supper, chicken baked with rice and mushroom soup, green beans n bacon, tomatoes and dessert of homemade apple crisp and frozen yogurt! YUMMY!!!! Now waiting for MPQ ZOOM meeting!

My own ruler system - 1/2" bias bar and 6" ruler.

AND that lucky someone was MOI!!!! Plus you were to be present at this meeting for the Shop Hop draws to win, otherwise redrawn. Well I also won the prize from Design Wall! WOW!!!

This on top of the January Quilt Retreat $50 spending plus 8 half metres of batiks prize from OMA's! Triple WOW!!! Covid may have put a major crimp in my adventures but not my LUCK it seems!

Hmmmm guess I've no excuse to be productive!

Now relaxing with my feet up and maybe even tomorrow!!!!!

Back to Sewing!

Yeah it does feel awesomes seeing the floor and decorating possibilities, but I need those two deep sliding shelves to keep it off the floor!

And somehow I've a bruised middle toe(?) and when adjusting my chair a stinging swollen bruising cut on lower arm!

Dang housecleaning is dangerous for me! Never mind all the body aches! Not long ago doing dishes cut myself with a knife that took ages to stop bleeding! YEP I HATE housework!

Took them 5 minutes and out to the next suite. I asked when new windows would maybe be installed and was told 6 weeks! So not moving anything major back. Going to clear out my cube unit, magazines on bottom and organize other cubes, ready for finishing!

Also the caretaker is taking my old bedroom suite for whenever I get my tall dresser. YEAH!!! I don't need to call for pickup! Next is my accent living room chair to be replaced and one day a loveseat!

Now to move and set up my sewing station and get to quilting my shop hop hanger! 🙃

Ohhhhh pisses me off royally! Again the damn bike routes are cleaned down to the pavement but sidewalks and roads are covered and ruts! Sorry bikers, but that is TOTAL DISCRIMINATION!!!!

These past few days were just too much for me. But I at least set up my sewing area, spray n pin basted my shop hop wall hanging. I did a test sample and found a bit of the red came through to the back, adjusted my tension, tried again and good to go! See I'm going to quilt the top with white, red and back but using grey in the bobbin, all the same type of threads though! Enough today, tomorrow it is! Relaxing, feet up and enjoying a glass of chardonnay!

Catchup - April 7th-10th

April 7th  ???

April 8th

Ooohhhhh what a lovely visit with Sylvia today! We sewed, Sylvia on her scrap challenge, me on my MPQ virtual shop hop hanger, all while her stew was cooking in the crock pot! Yes she not only invited me for supper but gave me a container for tomorrow's supper! YUMMY!!! I had scattered ideas for my hanger and just love talking it over with her, having her input and coming out on a better road to finishing! Still needs black bottom and side borders then onto quilting it! Maybe maybe just maybe I'll make the 14th's meeting show n tell!

April 9th

Today was a take it easy morning. Then did sheets, towels n throws loads when I was lucky to get the machines to myself. In between I sewed more of my scrap sisters challenge and finished off the shop hop blocks wall hanging top. It's bigger than I would have liked at 26.5x31", but there was no way Jose I was reducing that lovely log cabin Quilter's Den block nor leaving it out. Next is deciding on the quilting for each block and borders!

WOW WOW WOW!!! It took me 4 hours to gather and snip off loose threads front and back of the RCMP quilt - pencil for comparison only. I'm getting it ready for the longarmer soon!

April 10th

Nifty idea!!!!

SHEESH I need a turn off switch for this yucky and achy mood I'm in and a turn on switch of full ahead drive! I've a couple of my own projects to finish ASAP, picking out/up backing and batting for that RCMP quilt, a few masks for my dear friends Dale and Ted plus do some major clean up so the techies can get to my windows to measure so they can be replaced soon!!!!! 🤔🤔🤔 🤗🤗🤗

Anyways today was a yucky start, so I worked on the scrap sisters challenge, then a walk with Edna, quick grocery shopping and home to find the machines free so my clothes are in, YEAH! Just need more drive please! 🙏🙏🙏

What a beautiful day, but not our usual pace and both of us don't believe a winter weather front is coming!!!!!

Now relaxing with wine, sewing more HSTs and watching the Jets hockey!  GO JETS GO!!!

Catchup - April 4th-6th

April 4th

I think the heart weighted base fell off my sewing table into my garbage can and out it went! I can't find it anywhere and NOW checking the can before dumping it! YEAH closing the gate after the animals escaped!

I felt like more sewing but only an hour then out the door to meet Sylvia for a stroll in her area. Then off to meet up with Edna and a walk into Wolseley area with a stop at Tim's, talk about lax Covid protocol there! Not our usual stop but then we won't be back there if there's another option. About 3 blocks from my car I was flagged partly because of earlier tripping over a raised cement sidewalk, didnt fall, but jarred myself badly. After filling up with gas I decided to go through the stations car wash. Big mistake as one bay was closed due to door malfunctioning and the other a code was not working! I was going to leave but already waited half hour in line when the issues were corrected, door left open, both bays working and finally a clean baby! Now it won't be so ashamed sitting by my neighbour's always clean car! I'm pooped, not sure how much sewing I'll get to!

Well all is not lost! My little hold all is working for easy HSTs snipping!

April 5th

It's coming along smoothly now! Maybe I'll make the deadline for the 14th? Will see!

April 6th

Ohhhh another awesome day! This morning I sewed up the second 2 then off for an invigorating walk with Edna! See she wondered if the huge jack rabbit we saw last year was still around the airport. So since there was barely any wind I asked if she wanted to have a look see, so off we went. After our rest we walked along the Canada Post building and there were FOUR huge white jack rabbits with greyish butts, dang they took off as if predators were after them instead of just me and my camera!

Now to finish off the 1 and tomorrow afternoon a sewing visit with Sylvia to sew up my hanger. Just might finish it off for the 14th MPQ meeting virtual shop hop block project viewing.

Halfway rest and Tim's treats!

WOW!!!

Then triple WOW!!!
Glad it was pushing us back home!

Yeah I've my virtual shop hop blocks' banner completed. Like I mentioned earlier, I reduced Judy Stupak's FPP pattern 50% plus instead of white letters and numbers surrounded with black I played with crazy patch and white background. Not sure how it'll fit into my wall hanging but will see tomorrow. This baby is 3 3/4" x 20 1/2" unfinished.

Sewing Day - April 2nd

OMGG!!! Maybe I am a mite crazy!!! See I wanted the logo on my MPQ virtual shop hop hanger BUT only half the size. So YEAH I reduced Judy Stupak's FPPing 50% and just spent 3 hours crazy patch piecing the M only! SHEESH how long is it going take to do the P Q 2 0 2 1?

HAPPY EASTER to family and friends! 🐑🐇🐥

My wooden eggs that Alan brought for me from his Ukraine Project work trip! I still cherish them!

And this so far is my favourite, thank you Michelle!

It's been a quiet day! Pressed my scraps and started cutting my squares and sewing together pieces for more squares! I pray I've enough here for my planned project!!! Then I took a short walk over to Tim's in St Boniface and came across this goose. Also a bald eagle soaring on the wind currents overhead. Watching Jets hockey and prepping my squares!

Still there on the way home.   No mate in sight.

March 28th & 29th

March 28th

Well I was able to lighten the rust pinpricks 90% and hopefully what's left, that I had a hard time to find to photograph, might not be noticeable on a decorated tree! So they have been sent off as requested and I know I'll be making more for myself! I LOVE many of these!!! Honest the individual photos are white #601 Lizbeth size 20 but taken in my sewing room under soft light!

Met up with Edna this afternoon for a 6.5 km walk around her area protected mostly from that crispy cool wind! Good thing as the next few days aren't gonna be springy like!

March 29th

Well yes there are long lineups, but seriously it took us 1.5 hours from arriving to exit after Sylvia had her shot! I was very impressed with how RBC and those in the health field and volunteers handed all arriving - directed to main floor needing some kind of assistance to upstairs for those more agile, alternating waiting lines, assistance with forms, their process of administering shots is ingenious, general cleaning of chairs and guiding you out. Honestly I don't know how else they could get the volume of people through any faster! I've waited longer than that at the Dr office OR at the PanAm Clinic just to hear I need another specific appointment! So really just try to be patient and kind to all around, they are there to help all! 💞💞💞

This evening I sewed up the last two MPQ virtual shop hop kit blocks with a few changes to meld better with my choice of fabrics and colours. Next to work on the reduced "MPQ 2021" header I want to add above. I had originally planned on reducing these patterns but decided to leave them as is but only do four!

Now feet up watching Jets hockey!

GO JETS GO!!!

Okay it's a crazy day as the afternoon was 19C with gusty winds and this evening to this?  Crazy weather!!!
