Unpacking Sylvia!

Nov 29th

Hmmm wonder what this huge crow or raven sitting here means??? I had to zoom in over that old house across the street.

Oh boy! I think waiting around indefinitely for someone to arrive is quite tiring, even if you're not actually working! Sylvia, Diane and Tyler arrived from Dryden BEFORE the movers who left the house sooner, HMMMM!!! The first truck arrived finally 6:30 pm, last unload was 10:30, and finally all assembled and out 11ish, we shortly after that! BUT 89 items were on another truck that went west first and won't be here till Tuesday! Well Pat was checking off items that came in so I pray the rest jives with Tuesday's drop off! It's sure been a long day for Sylvia!

Nov 30th

Ohhhh that was a very very quick curb side pickup, like seconds after calling in my stall number! Love this service as I hate shopping unless it's for my hobbies! 🤣🤣🤣 Guess I picked the right time!

Tried for Walmart online pickup and had such issues with their website I just exited and went to Staples website and in minutes order was placed and confirmation received!

Then picked up drive through Tim's brunch and home in like 40 minutes tops. Now relaxing, gonna watch movies and crochet my new Christmas ornaments today.

Tomorrow will be a repeat of yesterday I'm sure! But then Sylvia can take her time unpacking etc. I'll help collapsing and carting to recycle etc.

WOW, another busy day, but more light at the end of the tunnel this time!!! 🤗🤗🤗

Pat n Sylvia did Shaw etc this morning and then called me over 12:30ish till 4:30 as they unpacked necessary stuff, I broke down boxes and hauled to my car, garbage and smaller recycle to her bins. 89 items are on another truck hopefully in tomorrow. Then I left with all the pile of flat boxes for the recycle depot and deposited as required, not like some asses leaving piles of boxes outside the slotted bins.

Tonight Sylvia is staying in her place with TV, food, bed made and bathroom ready for her! Even Pat was pleased that most was put away, looking more like a home and the place ready for more unloading tomorrow. Hopefully she's relaxing and tomorrow is another day! 🤞🤞🤞

Catchup - Nov 26th-29th

 Nov 26th

Okay I'm finally home, roads n weather were good, from unloading at Sylvia's apartment with Pat's help, both wearing masks, drop off at Audrey's too and home to unload a cooler of frozen food into my freezer. Once her's finnally arrives then I'll shift her food back to her, dang thing was to be there already, but delayed!!! Feet are up and Tylenol muscle n body to the rescue! AND those movers better not decide to load n go tomorrow!!!! Hopefully I'm home for awhile now! 😌

Nov 27th

So how are my friends going to this drive through parade in the city of Pembroke? Sometimes I don't understand locals going to none home events?

I hope I don't miss this virtual event! I've always enjoyed this no matter the weather with my friends!

Nov 28th

🤣🤣🤣 OHHHH Colleen this definitely sums it up! 🤣🤣🤣 PSST: maybe even more for the 24 days Advent Calendar?

Well Sylvia's movers are delayed, so today was relax time! But I was asked for 4 more masks so I sewed them up between movies. Tomorrow may be busy!

Nov 29th

Hmmmmm the unexpected setbacks etc for Sylvia's move is making me rethink my hope to move out of here! Yes the movers have changed ETA again. Maybe it's easier on MOI to just stay put and put up with the not so great here in an old apartment and downtown! 🤔😕

Busy Day!

Yeah it had to snow too last night so I started by shoveling, Sylvia baked me flaky cinnamon rolls as reward, then last minute packing of boxes before loading up the cooler and last minute items that would freeze.

All packed right to the front seats, goodbyes to Florence/Roy and Eleanor and heading home!  Lots of unloading once back!

Couldn't resist taking these pics from Kenora's downtown dock!

Catchup - Nov 25th

 Nov 21st

Very unusual sighting for me, I'm hardly up this early!

I totally enjoyed our Aurora ZOOM meeting today and glad to visit with Norma in Nanaimo too! I sure miss my in person quilting or stitching sessions with various groups and family! I'm still stitching on my hand applique block after delivering two more mask orders. Now just two more to go! Soon I'll get into more quilting UFOs too! 🤗

Nov 22nd

This is the kind of winter I prefer! 😉 Big fluffy flakes sauntering to the ground!

Nov 23rd

Interesting!

Nov 24th

Hey maybe I'd take up skating again without real skates!!!!!

Nov 25th

Oh my this has been quite a busy few days helping Sylvia with the last of the packing for her weekend move to Winnipeg. We got lots done, craft supplies to a Community Ctr, a number of large baskets for Dryden Sunset Quilters Auction items and a huge load of excess stuff off to the garbage dump! Talk about an experience! I've never seen so many huge Bald Eagles so close together!

Then too boot, the mover came by to tag all furniture and 75% of the boxes packed. Then he shocked the @#$% out of both of us wanting to move the moving up to FRIDAY!!! I said no that's not possible! We got him to agree to Saturday morning load, deliver and unload at the apartment. He dropped off more boxes, I'll pack up what he suggested later tonight. Then I loaded up both our vehicles with bins etc with Mom Deer and her twins watching me a few minutes, as I'll be returning tomorrow and Sylvia hopefully will manage what's left with her daughter. She'll be so happy to get to her apartment and just stay put settling in! It's been trying with various aspects!

Back to Masks

 Nov 19th

Another two sets completed!

Nov 20th

Well this is the last of requested masks to date! One day I'll count these up and see where I'm at! I know some family and friends may still ask for replacements, but I think the new orders have slowed down for me, I'm also nearing the end of my sheeting and nose wires. Masks are so readily available in all styles, fabrics and designs!!!

Today I delivered two sets and mailed off another two sets of masks. Hopefully two more sets tomorrow and a couple of other drop offs and then the two last sets on Sunday! You know I like this contactless, mailbox or doorstep drop offs, getting lots more accomplished in a smaller amount of time!

WOW!  Now what?  Oh yeah a glass of wine, feet up and another movie!!!!

Something Different

 Nov 18th

Yeah!!!!! Another NEED TO DO item is completed and just a couple hours before finishing I received a second request of another similar hanger! WOW WOW WOW!!!!

So this is an adaptation of the pattern "Through My Window" by Patch Works Studio which my original was Eagles Haven. I just LOVE anything Li'l Red Truck themed and bought way too much fabric! Glad my friends are helping me to use some of it up!

Anyways, I tried to scale this down to the max size my girlfriend Karen wanted but goofed, guess I was tired and didn't triple check before sewing, so an inch longer - but she's still happy! So I'd checked out some images of windows with panes and came up with this one and proceeded to execute! I think it turned out spectacular, if I can say so!

First layout not keen on!

Window template drafted up.

Fabric window cut out.

Panes zig zagged and first inner border on.

Closeup

The back, which actually is black with black thread!   Weird!

VOILA, on my special hanger borrowed temporarily!  Finished size 14x21"

Eagles Haven     Finished size 20x23"

Next back to the masks and then the second hanger for her and maybe my own of the other fabric?????

Nov 19th

Guess it's back to masks again! These I've finished this morning and Rankin's and Janet's delivered too! Onto the rest this evening and hopefully all delivered Saturday!

Catchup - Nov 13th-17th

 Nov 13th

WOW!!!! Here's an awesome and inexpensive decoration to use up hangers (even wire?) and those excess lights or new Led ones?

Finally my Nespresso online order is picked up and I've enjoyed two cups since. Here's my new "Let It Snow" Snowman mug too, not used yet, maybe with the new Amaretto flavor I ordered for Christmas. And what a perfect use for my peanut butter bear jars, except one is without a top, oh well this larger one works for easy access and my large fish bowl for used capsules!

For some reason the email to say my order was ready for pickup did not get sent out automatically. Luckily I called, she checked and apologized saying it was ready. Now they'll have curbside Polo Park boutique pickup as I refuse to pay $9 shipping when I can pick up and I don't drink enough coffee for free shipping! And another recycling mail back bag too!

I LOVE my Snowmen and here's their new resting place for now! 💓💓💓

One day I'll change that yellow bird for a Chickadee!

Nov 14th

Hmmmm I'm bad!!!! See I totally forgot to make two sets of masks over the past couple months, thought I had time till winter, not so now! Now I've another seven orders of 2-4 each, not bad, but first my other two projects! It's nice to see a variety of colours and prints!

Lovely! Maybe one day I'll use up my stash on some of these.

Nov 15th

Thank you Gayle!

Nov 16th

🙂 He he he!!! 😏 I'm leary starting Karen's through the window l'il red truck hanger so decided to at least do the windows process just to get myself accustomed to the process again! Well it went smoother than I thought so I'm onto Karen's soon. 🤗🤗🤗

This was the first time I'd tried another colour than black - don't care for it! Might still go through that whole process but with black or maybe green to match the outside border I'm planning for mine???

My selected scene.

My chosen window frame.

VOILA all cut out.  Now to carefully place and press to adhere Lite Steam a Seam 2.

Close enough to my liking!
Maybe up a smidge!

Hmmmm, not much material wise for me, but mega wise period, but it would be awesome! 💞💞💞

Nov 17th

Aaaaahhhhhh I miss my friends and all those special events we used to attend that this Covid is cancelling!!!

But I am enjoying the non-rushing around and relaxing down time. Maybe I needed this!

OMGG when ideas pop into my head it's minutes, well maybe a couple of hours and the idea becomes history! Well my second PFA themed swap postcard will be winging it's way to the USA this time! Hope she likes it!

WOW, WOW, WOW!!! I sure hope this spurt of creativity continues for a long while to come! Not only did I do another curbside pickup, this one for Steam a Seam for Karen's and my Through the Window wall hangings but other stuff too. See today I got my various swaps and gifts packaged and tomorrow into the mail! The gifts will be delivered probably later on with social distancing observed! 🤗

The turtle is a free pattern by MC...H and Vidalia a teaching pattern on Georgia Seitz website, are both for my Fringe Tatters exchange for next month. The golden angel, by Wiki45a, is for MPQ ornament exchange and the iridescent one is a thank you gift for a friend. 🤗

Okay guess I'll finish off today with some winter requested masks! Tomorrow I'll start fresh on Karen's hanger! 🤗
