Catchup - Nov 22nd-27th

Nov 22nd

Today I received my PFAswap, this lovely Christmas silk ribbon postcard from Zoe, a.k. Skyfire, of Montana, USA. She says it's her first attempt with ribbon. I also love the holiday plaid she bound it with. I say she made an awesome card!!! Thank you Zoe!

I was so pleased with myself today! See I woke feeling more myself and went out with two walking sticks and basically used them as "just in case" than needed for support. Then I stopped into Sylvia's and stitched part of the afternoon before starting to feel achy so headed home to relax! Ohhhh I hope this getting better continues!

Nov 23rd

Oooohhhhhh what else can happen!!! I'm so annoyed and fed up! My shower head (probably 8 years - guess it's old) just cracked and water in all directions. So now my relaxing day is interrupted to go get another telephone shower!!!! GRRRRRRR!!!!! 😕

Nov 25th

That explains why I'm wiped out after a long day or retreat days of quilting!!!

Nov 27th

I think I forgot to post Sylvia's recent commissioned fabric art/thread painted landscape hanger. I love it!!!

Okay I felt GOOD Saturday so went out with Sylvia to a few craft sales and continued good til mid-afternoon then got achy.

Sunday was not good, ached in different places so relaxed most of the day, with a few hours sewing at Sylvia's (she also needed a piece of my Canada fabric for another project), before heading home.

Ohhhh I did not like the smaller HSTs in the ACQ mystery quilt project so undid the two and rearranged them into Flying Geese, love this idea, so redid the picture.

This is the original layout for mini HSTs.
Blocks 1, 2 and 3.

This is re redone HSTs into Flying Geese.

Blocks 4 and 5.

Today, Monday, I felt GOOD again so picked up Edna and returned our boots that weren't what we thought they'd be like, then Oakwood for our borscht and cheese toast before heading to St Vital to check out boots there too. Zippo, and another long day, feeling achy, headed for home!

Catchup - Nov 10th-20th

Nov 10th

Today I'm feeling a little better and able to walk a half block before pain builds and I have to stretch or sit to release it.  So picked Edna up and to the Outlet Mall for lunch and the first footwear store, Sketchers, we both find boots for winter shopping or visiting.  Zippo for a jacket for me before I called it quits!  Ohhh it feels so good to be feeling slightly better, I can hope for more release soon too!

Nov 11th

Let us Remember!!!

This is the picture of my Polaroid jigsaw puzzle I've yet to set! The sealed box is on the top shelf!

Nov 12th

OHHHHH I'm very slowly getting better. Today after brunch with the girls, I shopped in Polo Park briefly and walked from Starbucks to nearly the elevator/escalators before having to sit down with slight pain. I did find myself a lighter weight parka for warmer days, not what I really wanted but for $49 plus taxes it will do! So home relaxing and catching up on my sports!!!

Nov 13th

Sad/Funny!!!

But honestly VERY VERY VERY true.

Last week I on two walking sticks had to carefully manuever out of the way of one of these "zombies" even after saying HEY loudly. Not great with my hip pain.

Nov 15th

Finally I think this sciatic pain is lifting, at least I can walk a block with the walker before pain sets me on my butt for a bit before continuing!!! Laundry yesterday set me back a bit, but today was not bad, to the point I finished off my PFA swap, Beautiful Ribbon Embroidery, finally after a two week delay! I've always loved AUTUMN so knew as soon as the topic was posted I'd stitched the postcard top in October but not finished it till today.

OMGG!!! It's beautiful out there! They are huge fluffy flakes! ❄️❄️❄️ But I'm sure for travel it's not nice so hope everyone is extra cautious and not full of that 'I know how to drive, you dont' cockiness attitude!

Nov 16th

Today was a good start so I spent a few hours at Sylvia's sewing with her. This time I stopped and headed home before over doing it. I worked on my Assiniboine Circle Quilters mystery BOM blocks and Sylvia on a commissioned wall hanging. It's looking really awesome!!!

Nov 17th

A quiet day doing a few errands before heading to Headingley to Cindy's for supper with Janice too! Yummy chicken tacos from Costco!!! Then we went to Shelmerdines Christmas special night opening! Awesome to visit with my friends after so long!!!

Nov 18th

Well today I felt lots better and Sylvia and I went to Assiniboine Circle Quilters until I ran out of energy.  I didnt haul my machine but contined on my handwork UFO instead.  Then home to relax.

Nov 19th

Yeah yeah yeah!!! I'm feeling lots better today and 🙏 it continues so! I even tackled the baby bath towel for a gift today without pain, achy a bit but I'm relaxing those out before going to Sylvia's for Grey Cup!!! Hope to drop it off an my way today!

Nov 20th

OMGG! 🤣🤣🤣 Yesterday I finally have the strength to STAND at the sink and do a load of dishes! Sink full of hot soapy water, turning the tap to a slow hot water flow for rinsing and PLOP!!!! The damn faucet spout falls off and turns into a water fountain before I shut the tap. This has happened a few times before and I've managed to screw it tightly back on. WELL this time NO WAY JOSE! So only did that one load and now a call into the caretaker! At the same time I'll ask for a shower bar to get in and out too! 😉

I love checking this out each year it's on?

OMGG this is beautiful!!!!

WOW!!!!

Yeah the kitchen tap is finally connected, after a struggle with getting the grooves aligned and then the caretaker tightened it with a wrench! Guess I'll get my dishes done today! 🤣🤣🤣

Catchup - Nov 4th-9th

Nov 4th

I love her store and stop every time I'm heading east and again, if possible, on the return trip.  🤗

Ohhh so awesome for a party and centre display!

Well Sylvia and Edna both have throat and coughing and me with hip/leg pains that walking is short and slow so we missed MPQ plus Sylvia and I Assiniboine Circle Quilters meetings! I'm feeling a bit better and can walk a bit further befoe stretching so I decided to go over to Sylvia's and use her machine and visit with her a bit this afternoon. She's working on her UFO project and I'm working on the last two Meals on Wheels placemats for ACQ.

So while I streamed Gushue's Gold winning Pan Continental curling game on my phone so Sylvia could see it we accomplished a lot considering we'reboth not 100%. Sylvia quilted her UFO and then cut out the ACQ BOM blocks 4 and 5. I finished off the two placemats from OMA's retreat for ACQ and then changed my table topper into a placemat for myself. It's partially quilted and once I find my butterfly templates I'll add that to the tan squares. Then I started to cut out my block 4 pieces but ran out of steam and had to go home for a Biofreeze rub down and feet up.

At least we enjoyed a shrimp dinner at our favorite Southdale Family Restaurant, Yummy! But I must say that was a first that Sylvia helped ME across the street! This better fly the coop and fast!!!!

Nov 6th

OMGG it's been one of those days, sciatic pain, but I'm fighting through it. Then Pat came over with her hamburger soup, just what I needed today! 🥰 So as I was feeling a bit better I decided to tackle the change of my Shaw modem that they sent me last week. Well after some bending etc I finally hooked up the modem then crashed onto the couch in pain. Once the worst was over I tried to get connected. Well my PC/phone and their instructions did not play nice and I had a meltdown. Decided I did not need anymore aggravation, I called for assistance. Right away I apologized I was in pain and not 100% so wanted help getting internet connection restored. DUH within 15 minutes of waiting for reboot, resetting network connections AND changing the name/password - ALL WAS GOOD!!! In that same amount of time I could not get to the APP as per their instructions to start connections! 😩🤗🥰 Now trying to relax!

Nov 6th

I pray I can go to this again this year! Will see how things go.

Okay today was definitely a week's worth of workouts! My nice neighbours drove me this morning to my Dr appointment as I was totally in pain and bent over my walking stick. Got a prescription filled for stronger topical cream and told to up the x-Tylenol to help reduce the pain and Advil for inflammation and if not better in a week I'm back to see him again. Then got my flu and Covid shots, I'm in pain so what's 2 needes too! Needless to say I took the 2 pills right away and got picked up and taken home, topical applied. Called my massage therapist and she got me in for a half hour at 4:15 today, otherwise nothing till December. Then I snoozed and woke to heavy snow and freezing rain warning. Pain vs weather? Nope I slowly went myself with two walking sticks and prayed everyone stayed away from me there and back. I'm home, topical on again and relaxing! 🥴

Nov 8th

Both Sylvia and I had errands to do so I went out with my sticks. I even dropped her off, I stayed in the car, and she got her Pfizer Covid shot at Shoppers on Osborne. And when going to Smitty's for lunch Sylvia helped me up the curb, coming out I avoided that and used the slight ramp and road, lots easier. Sylvia brought me her walker and WOW what a difference in my balance, more upright and I was able to walk from a nearby parking spot to the mall entrance before having to sit down. Lots further than a dozen steps. But dang didn't think I'd be doing this so soon.

But still after grocery shopping with many rests I gave up and came home, recycle drop off can wait for another day. Once home I called one of my neighbors to help get my groceries up, by the time she came down her husband arrived home and took over AND my next door neighbor too, all offering to get my groceries etc next time. I said I did better than last week so hopefully improving!

So today here is the lovely greenhouse gardens in Amsterdam that Margreet and I visited and then a picture of the snow out my window this morning! HMMMMM!!!

Nov 9th

Again Sylvia and I went out briefly to pick up pictures from London Drugs then she went shopping while I stayed in the car. Then again both tired so I dropped her off and I very slowly got rid of my trunk full of recycle from the past two months then home and feet up. Yes it getting better and better, but I'm going slowly. I think the movement rather that sitting all day is working with the meds and rub.  Even my bruised toe is looking a bit better!  🙃

Catchup - Nov 1st-3rd

Nov 1st

WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!

Ohhhhh this is soooooo sad.

Woody has been vandalized and weather abused so he's now in a St. Boniface gallery.

Well it's been a rough two days with returned hip/leg pain and very reduced walking. Took me half an hour to walk the 5 blocks to my nearby Lab for bloodwork this morning. Not sure if driving on those icy roads tensed up did me in or what. Last week I was doing lots better. Ohh well glad I've the walking stick for support.

Anyways I at least got some tiny silk ribbon Autumn Leaves embroidery completed and after I rest up from my outings today I'll prep the postcard and hopefully get it mailed off this week.

Nov 3rd

I am asking those who love the outdoors to post a picture. A picture that YOU took. No description. The goal is to regain peace and harmony without negativity. Please copy the text, put a picture on YOUR page, and let's look at these. Here is mine.

Thank you Tami for your lovely picture! I needed that today as my hip pain is getting me down! 💞

Thanks friends for the reminder, my brain is kinda foggy this week!

Dang this bruise is moving upwards and ugly under the nail. I'm remembering a while back I had dropped something on that toe and chipped the inside corner of the nail (the white edge). So is the prenail under the skin that bruised finally coming out?  I better not lose the nail!!!!!  🤔
