Catchup - A'Dam Tower

July 7th

Friday Evening! - catchup

Once I freshened up I was off across the bridge to catch the tram to Central Station and find where I catch the free pedestrians/cyclists ferry to cross.  As my plan for the evening is to check out the A'Dam Tower and Lookout and have supper and wine there!  Well talk about a HUGE disappointment - entrance only by the Red Card ordered from downtown tourism offices, no cash!  I was near tears!  Then the clerk said maybe ask someone to pay for me and I could give them the cash!  AWESOME, the second person I asked did this for me - YES - so I'm going up!!!

From my hallway.

Underpass to the ferry dock.

A'Dam Tower

Observation Deck over-the-edge swing!

Central bus station roof.

Nope I  was not brave enough to try the over-the-edge swing!  But ohhhh the pictures from above were just awesome.  These first three are their free downloadable images.

YOWSERS!!!

Bug on the window!

My Jakarta Hotel on the point, black building and bridge connecting it.

Then I went into the bar/restaurant to have fish n chips and Pinot grigio.   The fish was great and ate it all, chips left some!

Their placemat.

Well then the "process" to get back to the hotel - I could see it - but not up to swimming!  Water was busy with kayaks to huge barges and river cruise ships!  So caught the free ferry again BUT finding bus 43 or tram 26 going my way no such luck!

Ferry ride back across.

Floating Chinese restaurant.

Awesome architecture.

Central Station

No matter who I asked I kept getting turned around - so after seeing the tram pass me, I followed the tracks backwards to Central St and waited for the next one.  DAMN IT!!!  Who knew it was a LOOP???  So finally at the bridge but 43 bus passed me so I hobbled over it to the hotel.

Party boat cruising!

Then just about fell into the revolving door as it was faster than me.  The staff rushed to help and once with an ice pack, upstairs to relax!  To bed as another full day with Margreet!
