July 8th - Amsterdam with Margreet - morning
Well I woke refreshed - very little pain but took a TA and rubbed down before going for the AWESOME breakfast buffet - I didn't even take half that was available.
Then I caught the bus out front to save my steps and the tram to Central Station and waited maybe 10 minutes when Margreet arrived. Off for coffee and an overly apple pie and plan out our day's outing!
It was so beautiful to relax and visit (first time in person) then boarded the canal tour bot with taped commentary - but sorry I don't remember much of it! It was very warm and kinda still air on the boat!
Entrance to the underground parking lot for thousands of bicycles.
Some even have fancy carvings.
This is the canal with 7 bridges.
Very expensive private suite hotel.
Lots of privately owned with permanently connected utilities houseboats everywhere.
The crooked or dancing houses. They are tilting because they only had 8 feet/metres foundation pilings instead of the regulation 15 feet/meters. Big difference on soft ground.
I've seen this many times from the tram, bus, canals and walking. Margreet says it's the Zuider Church.
They sure need more traffic lights on these canals!
The floating Chinese Restaurant again.
Tower where many livers said goodbye before sailors floated away on duty.
Central Station from the canal.
