Avalon Day 2

July 10th - Avalon - Day 2

Guess I stayed up too late trying to post but crashed before blogging!  A bit groggy and not as sore today but took the "gentle" way by bus instead of walking to the canal cruise boat that was not that far away.  So this tour was kinda similar but yet different too!

There's our ship!

Skinniest house width of white balcony.

This car recently fell into the canal.

Still some downed trees from Wednesday's storm.

She was making a left hand turn in a tight space.

Love the roof adornments.

Discarded bike in the canal.

Tallest building against regulations, but owner donated a house to the city so was allowed to continue building.

Floating gardens or natural vegetation for butterflies and/or bees.

Canal with 7 bridges.

Outside decorations.

Canals 1/3 mud, 1/3 discarded bikes and 1/3 water - 9 metres deep!  Locks 25 metres so large cruise ships can pass on their way to the North Sea.

We stopped at Gassan Diamonds, very very sparkling but too pricey for me!

That's tiny!!!

Gassan Diamonds

Jewish flea market, mostly second hand clothing.

Opera House

Crazy congested bike parking everywhere.

Cafe and Central Station
