10 Day River Cruise Paris to Amsterdam
Your river cruise vacation gets underway in romantic Paris—the “City of Light.” See Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower, and the Louvre Museum with its elegant glass pyramid contrasting its ancient architecture. A city tour will show you all the must-see sights! After your stay in Paris, take a high-speed train from Paris to Luxembourg City to board your Avalon Suite Ship® in Remich on the beautiful Moselle River. Enjoy a guided walk in the charming wine village of Bernkastel and taste some of the region’s best wines. Cruise the Moselle River to the picturesque town of Cochem where the Riesling grape is cultivated.
Sail into the Rhine River to the quintessential Rhine valley town of Rüdesheim. Here visit the amazing Mechanical Musical Instruments Museum, and enjoy a stroll through the town’s famous cobblestone Drosselgasse lined with shops, restaurants, and lively taverns. Cruise through the dramatic Rhine Gorge—the most beautiful stretch of the Rhine River where ancient castles stand on cliffs 400 feet above the water. On a guided walk, see the famous twin-spired cathedral of Cologne, and explore the cobblestone streets of the Old City. Before this fabulous European river cruise concludes, you’ll visit Holland’s popular, modern capital of Amsterdam. See the treasures of this 700-year-old city from a unique perspective—on a canal cruise along the elegant Grachten.
Your scenic river cruise on the Rhine and the Moselle Rivers takes you through both the spectacular and the charming destinations of France and Germany. Enjoy each moment and new discovery while we take care of all the details for your best European vacation yet!
After this I'm hoping to have a 3 night stop over in Amsterdam with Margeet or on my own. Then a fly over to London and train to Stratford Upon Avon for visits with Jane and maybe other of her tatting friends. Also hope to take in a double decker bus tour of London, Big Ben and London Bridge for sure before heading home.
