CUBA - Day 7 - Excursion - Sugar Cigar n Rum 3

Quite interesting to see and hear how Cubans have survived and now with tourism #1 industry is thriving. They LOVE Canadians!

A home owner with his own banana tree harvest going to the market.

Primary School

Secondary School

Around one of many city parks some with monuments.

This one with a Catholic Church.

From the third floor balcony of our restaurant.

Our lunch place.

This was through the doors in a central courtyard of an Art Gallery - not much for the art but this fascinated me.

WOW!!!

Many street side vendors.

This is at the end of our trip.   Met with an ice cold rum n coke.   Our tour guide on right - she was awesome!

Parts of the sugar factory as ornaments at this resort.

Royal palms not yet mature.   Owners need a permit to cut ONE down for building purposes.

Solar panels as electricity is oil generated and very expensive.  Also wind turbines being used.

Rose Anne, the difference between their schools and the ones I taught in, even in poor areas, is so striking from the outside! I wonder what goes on inside. I'm betting supplies are few, books are shared, and it's a struggle for teachers and students. Thank you for sharing so many pictures.
