Churchill - Day 4

Tour #3 - Polar Rover Tundra Buggy - Part 1

Well straight from the dog carting we head out to the Great White Bear Tours headquarters for our tundra buggy ride.  We prayed to see a polar bear in the wild and with Kyle's high powered scouting scope we did see two but none up close.  BUTTTT we did see sand cranes, white swans, a bald eagle and the Artic Fox/Red Fox den entrances.  BUTTTT talk about a very uncomfortable ride over lots of  rocks, boulders, mud holes, water filled low spots and even through shallow lakes!!!  It was interesting but very tiring and especially when our bus would not start, then started and the owner left with his bus load but ours would not shift into reverse and then died.  So we all hitched a ride in Great White's luxury bus for a ride into town.  We went straight to the Legion for supper, chicken penne, garlic toast and garden salad.  Some then went back to the hotel to change and returned for the dance.  We stayed a bit then returned to relax!
