Churchill - Day 2

Aug 5th

Churchill - Day 2

After a well deserved rest we woke, just caught the breakfast buffet, then checked out the various gift shops taking a few pictures.  Then cautiously walked further around to the Bay side and took pictures of another Inukshuk, the Beluga ship and rocky area (keeping an eye for movements on the rocks), then to the fantastic Eskimo Museum but were ushered out so the clerk could close for lunch.

Lot's of this everywhere.

The artist is local so glad it's back here after it's Winnipeg bears parade.

Beautiful!!!!!  ❤️❤️❤️

It's got lots here!!!

Just to the right behind some apartments.

Painted on the apartment wall!

Bay side with lots of warnings to watch for bears!

The Beluga!

Churchill - Day 1 Cont'd

So we returned to the Health Ctr for a yummy lunch that we split and then back out to the ship and headed around to the Eskimo Museum to finish checking it out with Ruth too. While nearing the bend and rocks in the distance, I said there was maybe a bear out there but not sure, we took pictures but continued on. Finished our visit at the museum and left WITHOUT Ruth!!! I felt sick as that's not like me!!! After I realized this we met up with another couple that was there from our group and was told Ruth had left! DANG!!!!! So we finished off our walkabout and shopping, coming back to rest. I'll be apologizing that's for sure!!!!! All turned out good and she told me not to fret about it!!!!!

Such a variety.

Walrus vertebrae

Eskimo ice fishing from seal air holes!

End of the Museum pictures before lunch.

Donated by Linda Du Bick.
Awesome art also at the Health Centre.

Myrtle's Caribou Hair Sculptures.

This is where I see a bear, look at the cream shape in the middle.

Eskimo Museum pictures again.

Talk about miniature carvings!

These too are miniatures, some half an inch and THIN!!!

Sculptures everywhere!

Well another evening of country music and awesome display of some fancy dance steps! The Legion staff even came upstairs and sold Chase the Ace tickets (both of us bought, first time fir both of us) and the winning pot was only $40, none of the special cards were drawn. This rock was propping a door and these are the trees we see here, maybe Sylvia will have a paint day so we decorate our Churchill rocks! We left early tonight to relax back at our room. Easy day tomorrow except for waking to ensure we have breakfast by 9:30 cut off!
