We Got Snow!

Brrrr and waking up to such quiet I wondered what gives?  The I looked out the window and WOWed at the winter wonderland starting well before Halloween!   To me it's beautiful.  Just hope drivers aren't crazy out there!!!

It was just about all gone by 10 o'clock.

Lovely Aurora gathering of stitchin, gabbin and quite the enjoyable feast again!  I did some running around then back to the house for supper and relaxing.

Tomorrow will be a busy day with a Prairie Pathfinders walk out to Roseau River and fall supper at St. Joseph.  Can't wait - I'm smiling already just thinking of another new walking trail to check out!  Yeah I know I'm crazy!

Friday - Oct 13th

SHEESH this did start out all messed up!  I woke with the realization I had a luncheon with excoworkers to go to so rushed off to get my new tires retorqued before the weekend trip and realized I was running late so didn't stop at Vic's Fruit in that area.   Got dntn, parked at home and rushed on foot to the restaurant only to find out I'm like 10 days too early.  OK back home I head and find the painter was in and also patching in the living room which I had no warning - furniture not cleared away - so quickly did that before heading back to the house.  I'm getting out of the car and realize I've left my PURSE in the apartment - so back dntn I go to retrieve it!  Back to the house for a quick lunch and change for our planned walk.  Major headache going on!  Wonder if I should have gotten up today?

At this time Florence phoned and said to get my butt to Tim's and holler GO MOOSE GO and if they have you'll get free tickets for tonight's hockey game.  DUH!!!  Well Edna and I walked 6 km around Assiniboine Park and stopped at Sargent Ice Cream for our last treat before it's too cold then went to Tim's on Ferry Road.  I shouted and VOILA we got the last two tickets - so here we are - both of us at our first Moose game!  The Manitoba Moose against the Cleveland Monsters - too bad we lost!  Florence even came and visited too!  Another very busy day!  Headache kinda gone!

Len's Birthday - Thursday Oct. 12th

I'm Drained!

It was another jam packed day!  First thing ran my car to the garage to get my new tires on and an oil change.  Thankfully I got a courtesy car as I had to be at Mary's for 10:30 - just made it.  She showed me a few more things before she left on her trip.  I then went home and gathered up my stuff and left the apartment ready for the two repair jobs - yep still not done from two weeks ago - hopefully done before I return.  Then back to the house to unpack my stuff and relax till I'm called to come get my car.  Ohhh I had a visitor out the kitchen window.  Finally just before 4:00 I got the call it's ready - yep rush hour traffic driving someone else's car!!!  Thankfully there were no surprises and my bill was the minimum quoted - YEAH!!!  Now to hopefully relax when out road trippin' and just in time for Sunday's country walk!  I finished the day off getting a few groceries and now relaxing with Celtic music and feet up!  Tomorrow will be another jam packed day - heck everyday till Monday it seems - then maybe get to some sewing!!!

Bobbin Lace - Lesson 1 Part 2

I'm feeling good that after a few days away from lacing that I was calm and just worked with ease on sections 2 and 3.  I did realize I forgot a step after the second section but did not undo that 1.25 inch third section to correct it.  Will see how the fourth section goes.  😁

To my family and friends!  Yes I'm thankful that this fine morming I'm on the deck again having breakfast and the dogs roaming I'm the yard!

I've no wine left but had a glass with my supper last night.

Lovely Weekend

That it's another wonderful morning for breakfast out on the deck!  Even for the dogs!  Caught them playing tug a war for the tennis ball!

WOW I started out my afternoon walk in chilly but sunny conditions and by the time I'd walked around the zoo I was getting quite warm.  So when I got to Tim's at Safeway I took off my shell to finish off the Park Blvd E & W circle and took the round about way back to the house.  So I walked much further and faster too but then I had my 70's music keeping me company.  For the record 11.63 km  in 2 hrs 12 min at 5.2 km/hr and Fred wants me to play fetch with them NOW!  Oh oh the power struggle is on again as Zero got the ball first.  Comedians these two are!

Hey on my walk I passed by a street where I cat sat maybe a couple of years ago and lo n behold it's demolished.  She did say it was going on the market as a tear down for the property.  Here's an inside picture as I don't seem to have one of the beautifully landscaped yard she had.  I loved this house but it was in dire need of repair.  It's a large property and most houses torn down in this area are replaced with mansions!

AND because of the wind my face is a little wind kissed and very warm.  What my Mom and Aunties called healthy rosie cheeked along with a cheek pinch!  Funny what one remembers from childhood!  😍

Supper!

Yummy!!!  Baked sweet potato fries, baked chicken and fried breaded zucchini!

Ohhh I can't believe this!  But I've seen it with my own eyes!  When prepping the dogs' meals Zero was underfoot and Fred in the doorway.  After they ate off they went and not once into the kitchen while I prepared my supper NOR in the dining room while I was eating.  Now talk about well trained dogs.  Great job Taunya!

Puppies!!!!!

Ok I had to run over to check on the crew for a bit this afternoon and boy were the pups bad again.

So I chased them all outside and that's where they'll stay till there pet sitter arrives.  Naturally they would say they're not bad they're just full of puppy sweetness!

Right - now Wheeler the youngest pushed the settee off the deck!!!!

Day 7 - B&W Challenge - Last One

And finally Day 7 - from my recent Prairie Pathfinders Pinawa walk.  This was awesome even if my feet slipped out from under me and I slid down the rock on the path!  No injuries just hurt pride as I needed help up but I finished that 11 Km walk with not too much aching.

AND I crossed this one easily.

AWESOME DAY!!!

We're all outside after breakfast!  Tossed the ball for Freddie, relaxing reading in between and both occasionally chasing squirrels or whatever along the fenceline.  Yep this is the life with no work life!

After lunch I walked over to Assiniboine Park English Gardens then Corydon to Safeway Tim's for an iced coffee and back to the dogs.

My Day!!!

I've just started dogs sitting and went out for a few groceries and wine - boy do I need it NOW!!!  Came back to the car and a tire is flat so called CAA hoping they could plug it till the 18th when I'm getting my new wheels!!!  Nope no such luck as its a triangular metal piece not a nail.  So I'm on my spare and I was lucky to get my appointment moved up to the 11th as my new tires have arrived.  So will try to stay put more or less till then.

Dang but I was lucky this did not happen Tuesday when we were quilt shop road trippin'!!!

My poor baby she's sure had her tire issues.  Well let's hope the new set makes her mucho happier!!!  Me too!!!  Well except for the bill, but I did go to the max on them me thinks!
