Catchup - July 20th-25th

July 20th

Finally I'll have some relief! Thank you Adele!

Having an early Happy Birthday for Edna today! And totally enjoying being out and getting dinner served!!!

For my gardening friends n family!

July 22nd

UPDATE: it opened up last night, here's Taunya's pictures.

WOW!!! I've not seen a cactus flower here! AWESOME!!! Will watch to see if it opens more.

Last night - Taunya's

Last night - Taunya's

Oooohhhhhh mine better not break down then!

Hmmmm temperature is high, slight breeze, but it seems nice so I'm out for happy hour. Bubba just cooled down in the pool and came beside me, shook off before climbing backup on the chair. They are goofball!

Dahli won't let Bubba be!  Brat!

Dahli lookout that will hurt you!!!

Cuties!!!

July 23rd

A late start, after a visitor, but awesome having breakfast outside in the shade WITH this coolish breeze!

Thank you Taunya for the comfy chair!

Again, Bubba practically on top of me and Dahli promptly jumped down from the window to disrupt the nap! Brat! At least this time his feet weren't next to my waist, one backward hoof was one too many for me!

July 24th

Ohhhh Heavenly breeze! And this awesome swing chair, might get one whenever I move to a balcony apt.

Hmmmmm!

It's so nice out I'm not going in!!!!!! After breakfast Christin dropped off green beans and a cuc for me. Then an hour after Mike, Jackson and their dogs came over and it was free for all playtime! WHY can't summer be like today period???? Dang the pups are looking at me strange, guess it's in time! 😒

Jackson with Zeda and Grady!

Quiet time and cool down!   First time Dahli was in the pool when I'm over!

Now nap time!

I'm not sure about this but gonna check it out!

Friends are over and enjoying the cool evening for a change! The bigger dogs playing chase and the pugs running for help sometimes straight to me? Bubba is just too big for jumping!

Another cactus is going to bloom!

Good night!

July 25th - am

Breakfast at the Pancake House with Sylvia was AWESOME!!! It's been way too long for this baby apple! ❤❤❤ A brief stop at Fabricland n Dollarama and then back to the AC. YUCK it's gonna be another warmer day!

Catchup - July 14th-19th

July 14th

What a day! 🤗🤗🤗 Our first joint venture with all being fully vaccinated (Edna, Sylvia and myself with masks) for a sanity break! A visit with Adiena at OMA's Quilt Shop to spend my MPQ Virtual Retreat $50 door prize plus, Fay's Fabrics in Steinbach and lunch with Diane (Sylvia's daughter) before heading cross country (after calling first) to Needles Crafts & Studio. Then coffee break at Tim's to replenish some ooomph before slowly heading home. I was tired as not used to these anymore, but all look forward to another together in the future. And once more restrictions lifted, hopefully others added into these trips.

July 15th

UPDATE: New picture of the pattern that Sylvia modified for herself! Ohhhhh I had a sewing afternoon with Sylvia while she washed my newly purchased fabrics along with her's. But look what she made for her door for Summer!!! Just Beautiful!!!

July 16th

WOW!!! I totally missed the Grand Opening of The Fabric Snob (from Riverton) quilt shop June 6th or 7th. But went there today, not far from Mook Fabrics. Lovely shop and help.

July 18th

Well guess I'm still sewing masks, but not just in case anymore. These are replacement masks for Adele and special orders.

Replacements and extras.

Replacements for Adele n extras.

July 19th

Awesome thought!

OMGG this morning was cooler and a bit stinky but not too bad so stupid me opened her bedroom windows before running errands. Wellllll 2 hours later I could barely breath, easier with a Covid 😷 on but not good. So home I went and YUCK, closed 🪟 fast and poured some Eucalyptus drops onto a cotton pad and hung that from the AC. Wish I had that "circulate" option on this baby that my car has!

OMGG what an awesome idea and great recycling project! I might even like that!

These are from Pat's hubby's garden, he has the green thumb!

Catchup - July 8-13th

July 8th

What a lovely lunch with Colleen here and a short walk beside the river. Thank you Colleen so much for the gift, so unexpected too! Food was good, company awesome, even if I drove home with her hat!

Then over to Helen's, Cedar House Quilting, for some batting n thread, then home to relax. I'm enjoying the deck, dogs out briefly and inside quickly.

Okay back inside to cut out rail fence quilt pieces from leftover mask cuts, probably another ABC project!

July 9th

Well onto my next quilt project!!! I've pulled out some of the left over mask fabrics into 2.5 x 6.5 inch pieces for a rail fence quilt top, left over scraps going to Adeline for her charity quilt tops. I probably have another amount of such mask scraps to cut up but right now not easily reached. See all is moved to allow workmen access to replacing my windows next week! Well this is a start!!!

Okay I need the other mask leftover fabrics for more variety. This is the first go through.

July 10th

Something to think about!

July 11th

Hmmmm first time I've caught birds at the birdbath and I refreshen it when watering the plants! Oh oh that rabbit better run as the dogs are going out!!!! I love breakfast on the deck!

WOW, they made progress up to suites next door to me, on 1st to 4th floors, no windows on the main floor on this side. But for some reason the 5th floor windows aren't touched! Maybe cherry picker can't reach that high? Will check the south and east sides when leaving. Looks nice compared to the right side row of old drafty windows!

YEAH YEAH YEAH!!! I've my digital Covid Immunization card and now hopefully a bit more summer enjoyment to explore outside of my region!

July 12th

Finally it's a BEAUTIFUL morning to relax on the deck with a slight breeze, but I can't doddle as I've to head over to Sylvia's to view a livestreamed funeral service!

OHHHH BOY!!!! A stare down till the rabbit moved!!!

Who's gonna move first!

The rabbit did and the race is on!

Shucks, it got away!!!

Okay I got the scoop! This cherry picker can't reach the 5th floor, so another taller one should be arriving tomorrow!

I'm 🍾 my newly exchanged S7E for a S20FE with supposedly only a $5 increase per month! And this time only 1 hr 20 min to transfer my stuff and check that my calendar and contacts copied over! Next to order from Amazon a more reasonably priced wallet for it!

So today it's a shrimp rice bowl with red cabbage, corn, carrots, mango and pineapple - my favourite ingredients! And naturally some chardonnay!

Now relaxing watching baseball!

Catchup - July 2nd-7th

July 2nd

I am totally disgusted with this world and all kinds of people and their so called righteous destruction in retalliation of being wronged! You are just furthering the hate into the next generation instead of trying to heal the wrong! Two wrongs do not make it right and actually undoes whatever good many were working towards reconciliation and open to understanding! So very sad!

I was watching the Indigenous parade here in Winnipeg yesterday and was glad it was quiet, yeah right! Manitoba cancelled Canada Day so we can see their parade turn to this!!! With ALL the pictures, there should be LOTS more arrests than only the ONE!!!!

My joy in making my quilt for Indigenous children just lost it's drive! I am totally against vandalism! Yes I know this is wrong, but now you need to understand how these retalliation destructions Canada wide are killing my drive to help out in this call for quilts. I have one quilt I'll finish but the second I was planning as a sisters effort will not be made, nor my desire to make more blocks for another quilt group's call for blocks. Yes so very sad!

CBC News July 1. 2021

This is the last of the mask refresher requests from May, these are for Judy!

PHEW!!!!! Dang it's way too hot in here to do anymore moving of furniture getting ready for window replacement next week! Sewing room is just about ready, bedroom so so, just the living room small sewing table to clean up, I use this to watch my sports in the cooler AC room. I sure hope the new ones help with this hot and cold fluctuations in future! I need to freshen up, a Steigle's Grapefruit Radler and feet up!

July 3rd

Sylvia to the rescue today!!! It's mega hot n humid in my apartment this morning and I was dropping off some fabric for her. So she said to come over and sew in her AC controlled place. So I packed some meat pies, my quilt blocks, the fabrics and stopped at McDs for cold beverages and walked into relief!

We sewed together, had lunch, continued all afternoon till I was finished, then packed it in and ordered pizza for supper, before heading home.

Well I totally didn't think about an inner border on this quilt as it is scrappy like to me. But after seeing it finished I'm thinking it may look better with an inner border of white all around, then the fossil fern orangey border? What do you think?

July 4th

The flag kinda reminds me of an over the couch draped quilt, which to me is appropriate in my message to my American friends! 💞🇨🇦💞🇨🇦💞

I walked up to Poke Mono for their scrumptious rice bowl! Refreshing taste!

This is exactly what I think and feel about orderly official removals or riotous vandalism etc to statues, street names, buildings/churches, etc! So sad that many think history needs to be changed! Wrong in my thinking. What needs changing is people's understanding that present day is not physically responsible for 'historians' mistakes and all of us learning from this and building a harmonious future without violence.

These are my thoughts, whether someone else thinks it's wrong or not, does not matter. You are entitled to your thoughts and opinions too, but please not here. I'm not open to debates etc, thank you.

July 7th

Yahooie!!!! I was told they were starting to replace our windows on the 7th, no kidding two done and third started!

They are small side push up sliding windows so my AC with some minor adjustments should fit even with less work on my part!

A busy day! Quick errands and then back to visit with the dogs and sewing up the on point blocks. Soon will be the borders, then deciding how to quilt both of these nature I Spy quilts before the fall.

Canada Day

Well this heat wave is not to my liking, especially waking too warm and headachey! But nice that Sylvia had asked me over and to bring my nature blocks to rearrange and for lunch. On the way over I stopped to check out Pat n Randy's lovely yard!

Love these purple and tiger lily blooms!!!!

Just gorgeous!!!

And his roses too!

All decked up for Canada Day but not celebrating!

Then last minute Sylvia texted that her smoke detector started beeping 7:30am and her caretaker is out, neither of us can reach the ceiling. So I suggested we pack a picnic, head out to St Vital Park, find some shade and crochet n visit. Lovely!

She enjoyed the breeze from the open door.   Next time I'll take folding chairs n blanket so we can enjoy the breeze more so!

After a while we headed back, no caretaker yet, so we visited on the balcony in the shade away from the annoyance, before I headed home.

Sylvia loves her flowers!

The chair Len made fits here so nicely!
But it's Sylvia's chair, I just wanted the picture.

Hope she has relief soon, dang battery needs changing!
