Catchup - June 4th-6th

June 4th

A nothing doing day!  Can't even get into my tatting but prepped the shuttles!

June 5th

OMGG!!! I'm watching the Vegas Knights vs Colorado Avalanche and they just said it's 41C outside! Guess I'll be quiet about our 30's!

Ahhhhh love this shot of Sam and the fountain!

OMGG! My baby aged and I just about missed it!

So you bitches think you're tough because you came at me In someone elses house? ðŸ˜Ą

I still handled all of you, I left one of you on the ground.

So I came out the door & got attacked again, Big Deal! You think you got me in my face.

You're lucky I don't have any marks on my face, I have some on my arms, legs, and my neck but that ain't nothing! Bet you weren't expecting me to swing back since it was like eight against one. I'm too damn old for that outrageous behavior. I'm not gonna lie, I knew I was out numbered and just wanted to get back to the house, but I kept on swinging and making sure you got yours too.

All I have to say is... you attacked me, not once but twice, As soon as I ran to the house you all followed me in. This is when I really went ballistic and sprayed your lil asses! I had no choice.

I hate mosquito's !!! Mosquito's are jerks!!!😉 Copy and Paste to see if your friends read it till the end ✌😂

Sorry, couldn't resist. Hate the little buggers cause the cause me weeks of allergic grief when attacked!

This got me too, until I realized what I'd be like and then shuddered! The last time I got attacked on a trail using natural repellent I had welts for three weeks and my Dr was furious! Said deet repellent in future or don't go out!!!!

June 6th

Dang as if I don't have enough on my plate already - no the sisters are onto another MPQ project challenge(?)! And what half hour later I've a rough sketch and quilting ideas for mine already!!! Well I hope to use my stash for this one, I think it might be easy to do!!!! Gotta get the NOW projects completed this week and hopefully out the door first!

Catchup - May 31st-June 3rd

May 31st

Working on my mini mini but gosh are those 3/4" paper pieced blocks challenging!

June 1st

Today I tried "pojagi" a Korean sewing technique via O Canada Sew Along by Elizabeth of EPIDA Studio!  I found this Maple Leaf pattern challenging but my sister Sylvia helped me out!  Looking forward to finishing it soon.

June 2nd

Dang I totally forgot about my We Are Sisters mystery quilt needed for mid-June! I sandwiched it earlier but set it aside to finish off the RCMP quilt then started to play a little. So I set aside the mini mini and started quilting this baby! Will be finished this weekend. I like it so far!

Well I did a marathon quilting/sewing session and FINISHED off the We Are Sisters quilt. Just need to take a picture tomorrow! That's 8 hours quilting, supper and 3 hours binding was pushing it for me! But it's FINISHED!!!! Just needs washing then it can be donated to MPQ ABC program.

Love the centre quilting I did,
Sylvia suggested the V in the white!

Sylvia suggested the 1/4" inside the ribbons quilting and I just loved it!

Just love my sisters!

WOW, I'm impressed!

June 3rd

Thanks for sharing this Karen!

Yes it also stopped wasps last fall from coming in through the old not sealed screens/windows of my apartment! Apparently another couple weeks and might have new windows installed!!!!

Yeah, I finally after two days of 8 hours of sewing sewing at Sylvia's, completed our maple leaf hangers. Mega thanks to her for helping me over the problem areas and I'm very happy with it. Here are ours side by side and my individual pictures. And I'm going to try make a fall maple leaf, hopefully it'll go smoother with notes I've made! Lovely idea for window decor by Elizabeth from Epida Studio and "pojagi technique"!
Taken at Sylvia's.

On my 6th floor apartment window.

In the trees at the Legislative Building.

Hanging out with the Golden Boy!

Midnight Garden

May 29th

Well I'm taking a break and playing, well kinda. I cut out the fabric masks I wanted but switched to what I think is a lovely UFO from March 2015! Yep time for another finish! BUT before starting the quilting, I had to rewind from my Kenmore plastic bobbin to my Brother metal bobbin and just as it started, the plastic split in half leaving me with a 6" long 1/2" wide thread slinky!!! NO NO NO I'm not throwing this one away like the last one! Nope, I very carefully held the ends and slowly let it wind up with lots of stops at knotted areas which did come loose till this last one which I gave up on! Now onto quilting!

May 30th

Yeah!!! Another fun couple of days and another UFO from 2015 completed. This was a family sewing day with Sylvia and Pat and we're all itching for another one once we've our vaccines and restrictions are lifted!!! At least I can visit Sylvia as I'm in her bubble but nicer when we can get together, maybe with Edna too!

So it's from the Oh Sew Charming design line called Midnight Garden by Barbara Persing and Mary Hoover, CH-0817.

A game I've played a few times at quilting retreats!  Hopefully they will return!

OMGG I think I'm losing my mind in this Covid year! ðŸĪŠ See I've taken a 6" finished pieced block size down to 3/4" finished size! Sorry no puctures until it's gifted! 😉

RCMP Project

May 27th

Ohhhhh I've got the RCMP accent pillows' issues figured out finally BUT NOW sewing in the zipper is giving me grief! Tomorrow's another day!!!

May 28th

I'm a totally happy camper inspite of some Manitobans being selfish Covid-wise recently!

See I've finally completed the RCMP quilt and two accent pillows finally. This was started I think December 2019, summer 2020 deadline delayed because of Covid and set aside because of my mask/scrub cap sewing and finally January 2021 resumed amongst my other projects to finish! Next week I'll find a large machine laundry and wash all oils etc off before delivering this sweet baby! 💞💞💞

My friend asked me to sew a family wedding gift for their family. YIKES! But as it happened all worked out in the end!

The RCMP project story! Well we started planning late fall of 2019, I started sewing blocks early 2020 as it was needed for a summer wedding. Then Covid hit and it was postponed to 2021 and good timing as my life was consumed with mask and scrub cap sewing till end of the year. Then January 2021 I reconvened and found I was short some fabrics because of matching the hexagon shapes and binding. Dang it no fabric to be found locally, but I had some hexagon fabric and I bought a black tone on tone for the binding, so that's good, full speed ahead!!! Once the top was completed I sent it off to Stitched Art to be quilted. An awesome job was performed and I then prepped the label and binding to finish off. Lastly the matching accent pillows were sewn up and now both are complete and waiting to be laundered next week before delivering. YEAH!!!
