Catchup - Aug 8th-13th

Aug 8th

Thank you Merle for the Martingale.com link to the Fancy to Frugal book I wanted, $26 Cdn for an ebook compared to the crazy prices on Amazon.ca that's for sure! So now I've my 1930's pattern for my reproduction stash! Another project on my to do list!

Aug 9th

This is a very good example of what can be done WHEN all LISTEN and ABIDE with Covid-19 recommendations and mandates! Invading your rights and privileges etc, I'm sorry, does not matter in a pandemic situation!

If this past week here is any example we're not over this pandemic and with people's disrespect of this virus will not be for a long time especially with lifting of reopening phases!  Get real people!!!!  I too am missing what I love in life but am being careful in social distancing or retreating if there are too many in a specific area!  I'm not playing Russian roulette with Covid-19 and neither should you!!!!  💞💞💞

New Zealand

Here's my newest Covid-19 project!  Dr. T. asked for small, medium and large scrub caps in the style of the sample he provided.   I found a free pattern designed by a Dr. for a reversible cap that was like the sample.  So yesterday and today I adjusted it (medium sized) for small and large and sewed them up.  Hopefully Tuesday I can get them tried on to know if I need to adjust them any.  ðŸĪ—ðŸĪ—ðŸĪ—

Awesome evening but sure cooled off!

This one's for you all!!!

Aug 11th

Well this morning I finished off 6 medium scrub caps along with one of each adjusted pattern for small and large.  Then dropped them off at my dentist's to have the small and large tried on!  Only need minor changes to the small!  Tony is so happy he increased his order from 18 to 35 pieces! Guess I'll be busy!

Then a quick lunch and brief shopping with Edna before heading home!  There I find two more mask orders, one ASAP.  Glad the rest of the scrub caps aren't a rush!  I figured I deserved a nice supper!  Pan grilled lamb chops with Greek veggies and my birthday wine from Cindy (thank you).  AWESOME!!!!  😋😋😋

Earlier this year in the cooler months I made mine 3 layers, 2 fabric and inner lining of 400 count sheeting.  But as summer aporoached those were way to warm and more difficult to breathe through.  So I reduced to 2 layers on the advice of a health care worker, outer layer fabric with the inner layer the 400 count sheeting.  Once it starts cooling off I'll return to the 3 layers and offer both.

Mask Testing

It's good to keep reposting as a reminder!

Who ever thought this out nailed it!!!

A Winter Friend

I just don't know about all these blacks and dark greys, this is my third purchase of black fabric! Phew another possible order today! Good thing I have some extras as at this rate they won't last!  So three orders here (with 1 from stash) are complete with two extras too!  Tomorrow and possibly Saturday deliveries.

Yowsers!  And some have said Manitoba doesn't have Covid!!!!!  Keep gathering in groups wherever without following guidelines and we'll be back in tighter restrictions sooner than later!!!

40 cases

I've had 5 orders of 4 masks each this week and just warned possibly one for 10 next week and maybe another!  SHEESH!  So I've just spent 3 hours cutting out more repeat and new fabrics to rebuild my stash!  Good thing my elastic order arrived today, perfect timing!  Oh and Adele said the last 21 dropped off Wednesday, half were spoken for already!  ðŸĪŠðŸĪŠðŸĪŠ  Glad I got my friends' summer ones completed before this surge!  I've been very happy to hopefully be part of the precautions in this pandemic, but glad to see masks more readily available all over.

I'm just getting tired of making them, pretty steady since April!  The end for me is getting closer that's for sure!  I need to get back to my quilting, hand applique, tatting, fabric postcards and various other relaxing hobbies and activities!  ðŸĪ—ðŸĪ—ðŸĪ—

Right on!!!!!  Thank you Susan for sharing!
