July 13th - Rocky Mountaineer Adventure - #1 & #2

Okay up very early 5:50am and downstairs, checked out and waited outside for our pickup. Once at the train station they had us wait before embarking and I was getting more and more excited!!! I can say I'm very pleased the speed was mediocre and not upsetting either my head or stomach!  

We're in the dome car in our own numbered seats AND no one sat beside me!!! So half went down to breakfast in our own dining car! We were midway and stayed up served coffee/tea and lemon cranberry loaf - YUMMY!!! We saw 2 bears on the upper rail track and Leanne saw 2 female elk at the edge of the trees.  

Finally our turn for breakfast and naturally as we ordered we entered the Spiral Tunnels - BOO HOO!!! But actually not so spectacular as when I traveled years ago to BC and actually stopped at the viewing point and SAW a train entering and exiting the Tunnels! Once home I'll find those pics and add them to this post.

Well I was adventurous for breaky and had Boursin basil n chive cheese in scrambled eggs, bacon and smashed garlic roasted potatoes with greens and pomegranate! DELICIOUS!!!! 

I tried the viewing platform just at the end of our car but too ROUGH and windy. So came back in and decided I could do with a ceasar now!

Ohhhh and they have a one person elevator and I made use of it as the narrow spiral staircase was a killer coming in with backpack and sticks!
