Urgent Care Visit - Sept 28th-29th

Sept  28th

8pm update. BP rechecked, blood work good, blood spots in urine so might be kidney stones - a few ahead of me then in for abdominal tests etc Was given a couple advil for pain. Hmmmmm not sure what happened overnight BUT this morning I woke in excruciating right hip pain and sore abdomen too, appendix out in '97 or '98. Just about passed out from the pain and barely able to walk. Took the cab to the Chiro, feel 50% better but advised to see my Dr or urgent care about abdomen soreness. Can't get into my Dr so am heading to Victoria Urgent Care. 😒

Well I got home 2:30ish in mild pain but more comfortable. At 11:20 called into examining room, hooked to saline drip IV with anti inflammatory meds
- 12:10am Dr came checked me out and ordered CTscan and 2 abdominal tests, but did not think it's kidney stones
- 1am wheeled into CTscan then for two abdominal xrays and back 1:30
- 2:10am Dr recapped tests, small stone still there, nothing else except constipated. He gave meds to take when home. Will call tomorrow with CT results.
- 2:30am saline drip removed and meds given for home
- 2:50am home and to bed soon, but first drank restoralax
- 7am woke still uncomfortable, back to bed
- 7:45am woke from pressure, but excruciating pain has gone
Totally weird! But at least that horrible right side pain is gone. Guess it's a relaxing couple days till this passes!

All this within 12 hours, could be faster, but also heard worse time lines too!  Still waiting for call on results!

Well all I can say is the staff were calm, polite, efficient and tried to relieve patient stress here, felt more person orientated, even with the few that made a stink waiting. The guy next to me in waiting room said St Bonafice Urgent Care took 17 hours before seeing a Dr then more till treated and released. Even though the # of patients ahead being treated/waiting along with wait time NEVER changed it seemed to move steadily depending on traumas. If ever I need such again, I'm going to the Victoria Hospital. Throughout they were busy, kind and gave out Advil/Tylenol and warm blankets too.  👍👏

Catchup - Sept 24th-27th

Sept 24th

Yeah yeah yeah!!! I'm back at assembling my Canada 52 blocks 52 weeks quilt top! So it should be together for the Nov 30th deadline for the MPQ UFO Accountability project!  Then hopefully I'll get started on the reverse side quilt top blocks and top next year!!! This baby is going out to be quilted!

Sept 25th

Awesome salad, shrimp scampi and iced tea with Nestor at Transcona's Olive Garden!

Now back to sewing my Canada quilt top!

Hey another FIRST for me! Never have I seen both Griff n Wheels on the couch together! ❤ Usually one gets off when the other jumps up! 😁

Yeah! I'm tired but very happy that all blocks sewn into rows and all rows sewn into a just about finished top. I just need to decide on the borders, same as sashing or an inch wider? 🤔🤔🤔

Sept 26th

Beautiful morning! Sat outside with the dogs for a bit before meeting Sylvia for a wholesome senior's breakfast at Southdale Village Family Restaurant, will be back. Also got some fabric advice from Sylvia for my placemats, now going to cut out that project!

HE HE HE, before they ran from nonsafe place to safe place whenever I've vacuumed! Not today!!! They both jumped onto the couch at the same time! Gave me some chuckles that's for sure! But dang they sure shed. 😁

Sneak peak at fabrics cut for my placemats!

Sept 27th

WOW! I'm at Sylvia's finishing off my Canada quilt top and look what greeted me! And here's her MPQ Indigenous quilt project! I love seeing her creativity! Wonder what will be next?

So the two Indigenous quilts will be dropped off today, YEAH!

Sylvia's

Mine

Ohhhhhh I'm so excited! Yes I've finished My Canada Quilt top! This was started March 24th 2019 during the CQA "52blocks52weeks" quilt along by Jackie White. Hopefully I'll get the reverse side quilt top sewn together by year end and quilted early next year???
Thank you Sylvia for the so enthusiastic must have photo after the last border was sewn on!

Catchup - Sept 18th-24th

 Sept 18th

Hey, my friend Jo of NZ just showed me that my tracking app totals all the walks I've done since I started tracking plus annual totals! WOW!!! Will try to graph this for myself.

2015 (1 month or so) 23.51 km Started up with Prairie Pathfinders and Edna.

2016 (most in Aug) 757.23 km

2017 (spread out fairly evenly) 621.29 km

2018 (mostly Jan-June) 906.81 km

2019 (inactive May, Nov, Dec) 433.34 At this time Prairie Pathfinders folded too.

2020 (not much action - Covid started) 390.4 km

Jan-Sept 2021 (Jan-May was good - summer heat put a damper on my walking) 337.6 km

Lovely ZOOM meeting with a small group of Aurora Quilters, while quilting the top 2/3s of quilt blocks for the MPQ Indigenous project. Hopefully next week I'll finish off this quilt and then switch to my own Canada quilt top. I love ZOOM on my laptop mucho better than on the tablet!

But am totally annoyed as some young lady is being totally harassing trying a few times to get my name and number, even though I said you called who do you want! Third call asked for Melissa and when I said not at this number she was adamant she's right etc etc etc! I hung up and didn't answer the 4th from a different Manitoba number. Obviously bored and harassing! 🤔

Sept 19th

Well I finished the quilting on my Indigenous project so treating myself to a yummy Santa Lucia special pizza and ceasar. Ohhhh I walked over in case I want a second beverage!

Sept 20th

Fall is in full swing now! Guess I can take that AC unit out and store it for next year!

I remember my family talking about this and very sad for those not lucky enough to have gotten the vaccine in time!

Sept 21st

Ooopsie I forgot the show and license info!

If any MANITOBA RESIDENTS are interested in purchasing a $2 ticket on this Manitoba Prairie Quilters raffle quilt to be drawn at the April Quilt Reflections, please message me! It is very beautiful. Thank you!

WOW!!!

Sept 22nd

Talk about a gorgeous autumn day, lovely ladies and wonderful shopping together! I picked up Edna, then Sylvia and off to our booked Keystone Quilts shopping hour (nice to see Lori Suss too of Night Owl Quilting), then across the city for coffee at McDs before stopping at Marshall's and lastly Bed Bath and Beyond for Sylvia. Then dropped off Edna before heading to Walmart on Regent for last minute stuff and riblets supper at Applebee's - just like I remembered and had told Sylvia about! Then took her home and now resting with my feet up!

I just can't decide on one! They are all beautiful!!!

YEAH, YEAH, YEAH!!!!! This past week I finished off the quilting and yesterday the binding on my MPQ Indigenous I Spy quilt. These fabrics are from my nature stash and that's not even half of them!

Tomorrow I'm going over to Sylvia's and we'll wash our two quilts, package them up and after some sisterly sewing time together, I'll drop them off at Kathy's. It was a fun project to put together, but glad mine's finally finished in time!

I'm now going to work on sashing together my Canada 52 blocks in 52 weeks quilt top! Another YEAH!!!

Sept 23rd

Had a lovely sewing day with Sylvia, washed our fabric purchases and our Indigenous quilts too (will drop them off to Kathy next week) and then cut out the sashing ready for sewing my 52 blocks 52 weeks quilt top together! Finally, it's only been wrapped around a pool noodle most of this 2021 year! Sylvia worked on another of her apartment door hanger! Love it! Thank you for lunch too!

Catchup - Sept 12th-17th

Sept 12th-13th

Did some cleaning, purging and moving things around in my sewing room.

Sept 14th

Hey hey the masked ones are on the bus to Sandhills Casino! Are they gonna let us in or call the cops?
Hmmm guess the government is happy with us today! Had a good time and a good amount of playing time on our losses before shutting down.

Behind me is Mary my friend and her friend Darlene.

Well I'm home now after bus dodging several construction zones in this city! I was totally surprised how ONE person checked each and every one of our QR cards and licenses before entering Sand Hills Casino! Smooth when no one is being difficult! Easy peasy!!!! Them's the rules, you wanna gamble or sit outside till the bus is picking up again? Your choice.
Then we'd pre-ordered from 4 choices and lunch too went smoother than for those ordering off the menus. Yes a nice escape and hopefully all is good so we're likely to go again down the road.

Sept 15th

I totally agree! You are infringing on their Honest to God reasons to come and go freely at a hospital, patients and workers! God forbid, but if you force yourself in delaying health aid and the worst happens I hope you protesters are charged to the max. Thank you Cindy for sharing your friend's post.

Sept 16th

Happy 4th Wedding Anniversary April and Brennan! 💞💞💞

F I N A L L Y !!!
I have company over for supper, Wok Box Sweet Mongolia. A first time in like 6 YEARS!!!!

And my big head!

I'm hosting our MPQ ZOOM meeting tonight. Lots better than my tablet.

Sept 17th

What a nice afternoon! First picked up Sylvia and her boxes, then checked out Marshall's scenic panels, picked up Edna, dropped off boxes at Arts Junktion before heading to Selkirk.
We stopped at the Big Dollar Store before heading to Mama Bear's Quilt Shop Grand Opening sale! Awesome!!!! Got some bargains and now refueling at Roxie's before heading home!

We took the scenic route back to Winnipeg - and talk about a lovely ending to a nice afternoon! We took Eveline Street from Selkirk to River Road N to Main Street skirting Lower Fort Garry before turning onto River Road to continue along the river to Larters Golf Course and back to Main Street! Edna really enjoyed the ride along with both of us! We allowed those in a hurry to go ahead of us abiding the speed limit and enjoying the scenery! Beautiful autumn colours happening!

The Red River!

The Floodway exit, I think!

The Locks on the right.

Poor lawn, maybe getting fertilized for next year?

Yes that is ONE yard!

Captain Kennedy House, was a tea room way back when, but closed at this time.

Edna spotted this Buffalo and I just had to return to see for myself!

It didn't even move when I circled the car to get the pictures!  DUH ME!!!

Lucky for me, and others too, that he's not for real!  🤪
