I personally like the bit of tatting with beads around this.

Pincushions - Redressed
Some time ago I made up these china saucer pincushions but felt for me they were lacking - maybe not quite finished. So I decided I was going to tat some edging and tie it under the button and bury the ends into the pincushion. Well I finally was able to finish one to my liking and will try others too. So what do you think?

I agree, the tatting makes is look more finished. The material is quite a match for the plates - very nice! So, did you glue the pincushion down to the plate? I like this idea.
I think the tatting is the perfect touch!
I agree - definitely better with the lace!
Thank you very much ladies for the lovely compliments. No I did not use glue to attach the pincushion. My friend used a glass bit and drilled two tiny holes in the centre and once I made the pincushions I used a doll needle and anchored them in place. In a previous blog entry on these there is a link to the instructions I used.
Love, Love... very cute
